@cogpsyiitb@cogsonnet28 I had a wonderful time talking about my work and interacting with fellow researchers from the Psychophysiology lab! Looking forward to many such sessions.
Happy to share that Dr. Debaleena Basu is awarded the prestigious DBT/Wellcome India Alliance Early Career Fellowship. Dr. Basu will work @bsbeiitb with Prof. @NivethidaT@iitbombay. Congratulations to Dr. @Debaleena_Basu and Prof. Nivethida's group!
I did have a shy slender loris on my hand four years ago...this nocturnal primate fell from a tree and could not scamper back up. Our loris recovered well and was released to the woods shortly… https://t.co/0J0WPLc1Cm
Primate imaging is hard. Us and many others put in a lot of time collecting this data, and now it's free for all of you to do great science on. Enjoy! https://t.co/D1CMfnJTxn
@HollyDunsworth It was great meeting you @HollyDunsworth! I must correct my translation: literal meaning of 'chipko' is more towards 'to attach'. :) I am glad the movement had you interested!
@sciencequiche Great point to ponder upon. Building a successful economic model of public engagement to science is essential for a constructive growth in #scicomm.
"Hobbies are great but they don't pay and don't lead to longterm results. So is public engagement a hobby or a profession?" @sciencequiche #InclusiveScicomm
Science is about overcoming failures. List: (1) once I got to be professor, my first 23 grant proposals we're rejected. I am very comfortable now. (2) I was mediocre at school (~B) and particularly bad at stats. Much of my lab's work is close to stats now.
