I fought for this country in uniform. Now I watch it cage kids who share my blood and hunt my community like animals, while right-wing influencers salivate at the thought of brown people being torn apart by alligators.
So yeah, I’ll be sitting out Independence Day until this country starts treating everyone like human beings.
