If leadership means anything, it must mean ensuring that no citizen is left struggling for something as fundamental as healthcare.
Through Sebaashray 2, several elderly citizens who had been living with blurred vision for years have now regained clarity and confidence.
Through coordinated referrals, 46 residents from Maheshtala, Budge Budge and Satgachia underwent free surgeries at Drishti Eye Care Centre. An additional 20 citizens from Falta and Maheshtala received treatment at Renuka Eye Institute, and 10 from Metiabruz successfully completed their procedures at Vivekananda Mission Ashram Netra Niramay Niketan.
As long as I have the opportunity to serve, initiatives like this will continue, with focus, compassion and accountability.

The arrogance of @ECISVEEP and Mr. Vanish Kumar has crossed all limits. So strong is their allegiance to @BJP4India that they could not even extend basic courtesy to a three-time elected Chief Minister when she entered their office.
The conspiracy behind the mass deletion of voters in the name of SIR stands exposed not just in data, but in conduct. The CEC failed to provide a single satisfactory answer to the questions raised by Smt. @MamataOfficial and Shri @abhishekaitc. Afraid that the truth would surface, the Commission restricted entry to select “friendly” media houses and denied access to journalists from outside the state.
When institutions abandon neutrality, their behaviour speaks for itself.
My hearty congratulations, shubhonandan, to all my brothers and sisters, all the people, in Bangladesh. My advance Ramazan mubarak to all of them.
For this great victory, my congratulations to my Tarique-Bhai, his party, and all the parties. Pray, you all be well and happy.
Wish that our relations with Bangladesh be always cordial.

In the depths of my inner turmoil over an insidious process that has shattered lives and echoing the collective anguish, pain, and righteous fury of our people, I have channelled these emotions into a humble verse.
Sebaashray 2 has been about continuity, ensuring that care does not end at the camp, but moves forward with those who need it.
Through this effort, senior citizens identified at our camps were referred for cataract surgeries and received timely care at trusted institutions.
At Renuka Eye Institute, nine elderly residents referred from the Diamond Harbour camp underwent successful cataract surgeries. Similarly, eighteen people referred from the Bishnupur camp received treatment at Drishti Eye Hospital.
For many of them, this meant regaining clear vision after years, seeing their families distinctly again, moving about independently, and returning to everyday life with renewed confidence.
Good health for every person remains our responsibility.
In the noble pursuit of safeguarding the health and dignity of people, Sebaashray stands as a luminous testament to compassion, a beacon that pierces through adversity to illuminate lives with hope and healing. Though our camps in Nandigram have now concluded, the vital stream of service continues to flow unabated, ensuring that care reaches everyone in need.
From our health camps in Nandigram I block, 5 patients were referred for care, while 11 more from Nandigram II joined them, totaling 16 citizens who have now reclaimed the precious gift of clear vision. Through free eye surgeries at Kalyani Eye Care, Nimtouri, they have emerged from the shadows of blurred existence, their eyes brimming with tears of joy and gratitude as the world unfolds anew in vivid splendour.
These moments remind us of the vulnerabilities we all share, and the transformative power of selfless service to turn despair into delight.
The curtains fall on Sebaashray 2, and what an extraordinary journey it has been. I am deeply gratified by the spontaneous participation of the people, which transformed this initiative into something truly meaningful. Over 49 days of Normal Camps and 5 days of Mega Camps, the momentum was sustained. The defining hallmark of this edition has been our ability to build upon the success of the previous phase and significantly expand both scale and impact.
Even on the final day, our Mega Camps moved forward with undiminished resolve:
🩺 9,312 people received medical consultations with expert doctors
🔍 10,620 diagnostic tests were conducted
💊 11,628 individuals received free essential medicines
🏥 50 patients were referred for advanced treatment
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every doctor, nurse, lab technician, diagnostician, pharmacist, and volunteer who selflessly carried the immense responsibility that comes with being entrusted with something as precious as health. As this chapter draws to a close, the responsibility it represents continues. Sebaashray 2 may have concluded, but as long as there are people in need of care, Sebaashray will return, year after year.
How can the TMC government get Cut-money from making a bridge which was made in the Left Regime? 🧐 Via time machine? Or is there any hidden Lowde-Na-Bhujyam Policy to do that?
Can this malware answer how many bridges got collapsed ONLY in Gujarat & Bihar in just the past 1-2 years which were made by their Double Engine "Space technology"?

The soil of Singur has always inspired me. My journey of struggle is deeply intertwined with this land, and I am truly moved by the warmth and affection with which the people of Singur embraced me today. First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives due to the unplanned SIR. I am also deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Ajit Pawar. I pray for the eternal peace of his departed soul and convey my sincere condolences to his family.
From the soil of Singur today, I inaugurated Phase II of the Banglar Bari (Gramin) housing scheme, fully funded by the State Government. In this phase, 20 lakh families will receive ₹1.20 lakh each to build their homes, with a total outlay of ₹24,000 crore. In Phase I, 12 lakh rural families had already benefited at an expenditure of ₹14,400 crore, enabling homeless and families to secure dignified pucca homes. Across both phases, the State Government is investing ₹38,400 crore to benefit 32 lakh rural families. Alongside this, I inaugurated the Ghatal Master Plan for flood control and drainage improvement across flood-prone regions of Paschim Medinipur and Purba Medinipur. Nearly 10 lakh people will benefit from this ₹1,500 crore initiative, covering 801 sq km.
I also flagged off 50 Sufal Bangla vehicles and initiated the disbursal of compensation under the Bangla Shasya Bima scheme for crop losses caused by natural calamities during the Kharif 2025 season, amounting to ₹80 crore. Over 2.35 lakh farmers will receive direct financial assistance in their bank accounts through DBT. I also inaugurated 150 agricultural machinery hiring centres and 603 machinery hubs across the State and distributed 29,000 modern agricultural equipment to farmers in various districts, with a total value of ₹160 crore. Today, I distributed 7,727 land pattas across 22 districts. Furthermore, with the support of the World Bank, I announced West Bengal’s healthcare reform programme, ‘Unnoto Suswasthya’, which will focus on non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, and adolescent health, with a total outlay exceeding ₹3,700 crore. I also inaugurated 1,077 projects across 28 departments worth ₹5,694 crore and laid the foundation stones for 616 projects worth ₹2,183 crore.
The soil of Singur will always remain close to my heart. It continually inspires me to walk the path of truth and to stand for people’s rights. An Agro-Industrial Park has already been developed in Singur on 8 acres at a cost of ₹9.20 crore, and a private industrial park is coming up on 77 acres, creating employment for thousands. Unable to match Bengal’s pace of development, the Bangla-birodhi Central Government is now conspiring to disenfranchise legitimate voters through its unplanned and coercive SIR process. Ordinary citizens are being harassed, lives are being lost, and Bengal is being repeatedly targeted and humiliated. Touching the soil of Singur today, I renewed my resolve to continue this fight. I will soon go to Delhi myself to defend the democratic rights of our people. No autocracy will ever be allowed to take root in Bengal.
One of the most moving outcomes of Sebaashray for me has been witnessing senior citizens reclaim comfort, confidence, and dignity in their daily lives. Though the camps have concluded, their impact endures. From the Maheshtala Sebaashray 2 camps alone, seven elderly residents were referred and received complete dental treatment entirely free of cost.
Moments like these stay with you. They reaffirm a simple but powerful truth that care must never become a privilege of youth or wealth, and dignity must accompany every individual at every stage of life. When support arrives without conditions or hesitation, it restores not just health, but trust, self-belief, and hope. And that is a responsibility I remain committed to carrying forward.
It was with a heavy heart that I met young Anurag Pal, a bright ten-year-old boy whose left leg was critically affected due to a severe dengue-related infection. When his anxious parents brought him to the Sebaashray 2 Medical Camp in Bishnupur, I could see in their eyes the crushing weight that only parents carry when they watch their child suffer. As a father myself, I felt their pain deeply.
I am grateful to share that, with the support and swift coordination extended through Sebaashray, Anurag has successfully undergone a paediatric Ilizarov operation at Ganga Super Speciality Hospital, Coimbatore. He is currently under observation and is expected to be discharged within a week. I pray with all my heart that his recovery is steady and complete, and that very soon Anurag will once again walk, run, and embrace every moment of his childhood with joy and energy.
To Anurag’s courageous parents, please know that you are not alone in this battle. To every family going through similar trials, WE STAND WITH YOU. This is the very least we can do, and yet, for me personally, it remains the most meaningful privilege. The privilege of standing beside our people in their hour of greatest need.
"There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
— C.S. Lewis
As this chapter of Sebaashray comes to an end, those words feel especially true. Across Diamond Harbour, the camps moved forward as one coordinated effort, guided by a simple responsibility, to ensure that people could access healthcare without confusion, without pressure, and without being made to feel small. From consultations and diagnostics to medicines and referrals, the work remained focused on continuity, so that once someone stepped in for care, they were not left to fend for themselves.
Yesterday in Metiaburuz, I spent time with families who came carrying worries they had lived with for far too long. I listened to their concerns, met the doctors and teams on the ground, and saw first-hand how much reassurance timely, respectful care can bring. What stood out was the dignity with which people were able to seek help, without fear of cost, delay, or uncertainty.
The trust and affection shown by the people throughout these days have been deeply humbling. But this moment is not a full stop. It is a reminder of what responsible governance must continue to look like. Sebaashray may pause here, but the commitment it represents will carry forward, in every space where care is needed and dignity must be protected. As long as people place their faith in us, our responsibility to stand beside them does not end, it only deepens.
