Today, RRM donated fruit trees to 8 schools within the Makuutu Project area. This was aimed at creating conservation consciousness among young people by planting fruit tree seedlings and sharing on their importance and role in the environment.
RRM in patnership with Bugweri District Health Department have conducted an HIV/AIDS awareness/sensitization and prevention program in 13 villages in Makuutu sub-county.
These efforts form part of our health and safety commitment to empower communities with information to mitigate related risks that could arise from project activities.

Today we delightfully received the Minister of State for Minerals Hon. @PNyamutoro at our Makuutu Rare Earth Project- Demonstration Plant. We engaged her and the delegation on the progress of the test works being conducted to inform the mining phase.
Development of Uganda’s mineral wealth will provide royalties and taxes, direct and indirect local job creation, skill development and opportunities to add further value in country.

Today, we hosted project area MPs and the District leadership from Bugiri, Iganga and Mayuge to a field visit in Nawampendo village where we were conducting exploration RAB drilling.
Ahead of the Eid Al-Adha celebrations, we have donated rice to 25 mosques in EL 00257 which covers parts of Bulamagi and Nakigo sub-counties in Iganga district. We wish the Muslim fraternity a happy Eid!!
