Today we call for full, fast, fair phase out of fossil fuels - I am standing together across the globe to call on the global north (especially US and UK) to step up. The global south are paying the price #nowwerise

My husband Paul is a Consultant Urologist who is a Genito-Urethral Reconstructive Surgeon. I met him when I was 18 - in our first week at Manchester Medical School.
He has gone away to Pakistan to operate on two very difficult cases and he is being videoed as he operates to teach other surgeons out there.
He left this note on my pillow which I found when I went to bed last night.
When I opened my menopause clinic nearly 5 years I had no idea how it was going to go. Paul and I spent every penny we had so we could open the clinic. He has supported me with creating the free balance app, developing our menopause education programme (which has been downloaded by over 30,000 healthcare professionals globally), the media work I do and also the research we do both in the clinic and collaboratively with other researchers.
Paul is there more than he used to be to look after our three children - who have had various health issues - as I spend most of my time working.
Neither of us expected the bullying, toxicity and misogyny that I have been and am still exposed to which is exhausting. So many times I have wanted to give up what I am doing but he gives me the strength to continue. I am very lucky having him!
@ellaluciewrites We used to say this at primary school age when asked the time. Very much meant “how would I know, I’m not wearing a watch” (1970s South Africa).
One thing that was absent from today's avalanche of policy and consultations reforms for pensions was a firm plan to increase the minimum contribution for auto-enrolled workers beyond 8%.
@Scruffy_Nick No you’re not wrong at all. @REBA_Global published research on this in June. EVP at recruitment is just the shop window, but what really makes a difference is the experience inside ‘the shop’. I.e. does your EVP truly retain and create the culture you want.
A powerful female politician resigns: she was unfulfilled because she never became a mother.
A mother disappears: she was a hormonal (“hysterical”)alcoholic.
A headteacher is murdered: she emasculated the husband who killed her.
This is 2023. Misogyny is alive and well. https://t.co/V8RAadYzav

THREAD: A little more on last night, when I was #sexuallyharassed twice en route home at 9pm. I'm not going to go into what was said/done, but here is why I'm so ANGRY. Because I challenged both groups (yes, groups) of men/boys.
10 things that are very overrated:
1. Being Normal: Growing up, I desperately wanted to fit in and be normal. Standing out terrified me. But our differences are our edge. Embrace being weird.
