The siege on the U.S Capitol by rioting supporters of President Donald Trump has renewed talk of declaring him unfit to do the job and removing him from office under the 25th Amendment. Here's how that would work. https://t.co/FiAPStp0gJ
Four Americans died today during the attack on our Capitol. Same as Benghazi. Would Republicans like to get Trey Gowdy and hold hearings for the next 18 months to get to the bottom of what happened, or can we all just agree that Trump incited terrorism?
Last year, peaceful BLM protesters were met with rubber bullets and tear gas to clear the way for Trump’s photo-op at a nearby church.
But on Wednesday, law enforcement officials allowed a mob of pro-Trump extremists to storm into a locked-down Capitol

Once again, the mob of rioters who forced their way into the United States Capitol in an illegal effort to overturn the American election were NOT "protestors." They are violent domestic terrorists. They should be arrested accordingly.
But also it’s important to add the context that the woman broke through police barricades, stormed into the capitol of the United States through broken windows, and was a few rooms from our entire Congress + Vice President with an angry mob running towards Capital Police
We've already moved past "Antifa did it" to "they thought the Capitol was 'open.'" Do you usually break windows, chase down police, then rappel down balconies to get into WalMart?
Watch: Sen. Mitt Romney describes the violence at the U.S. Capitol as “an insurrection, incited by the President of the United States.”

All of this was predictable. It was predicted. And the lasting shame of history will be on all those who refused to act out of cowardice, ambition, or their own allegiance to an authoritarian movement.
In 1968, the police swarmed peaceful protestors with clubs and teargas. They used teargas and clubs at St. John's church so Trump could hold up a Bible. With this mob, they're playing nice.
Mr. @VP, President Trump cannot defend our country or her ideals. For the sake of the continuity of democracy, you must lead an invocation of the 25th Amendment and remove Donald Trump from power. We, as leaders in a democracy cannot let the experiment of self-governance perish.
The president, a senior adviser says, has "lost it." He has been almost impossible to talk to throughout the day today, and has been watching the coverage of the Capitol.
Today, domestic terrorists attacked a foundation of our democracy: the peaceful transfer of power following free elections.
We must reestablish the rule of law and hold them accountable.
Democracy is fragile. Our leaders must live up to their responsibility to protect it.
The president has had not one word of criticism for the domestic terrorists who stormed the US Capitol today, who left a pipe bomb outside the RNC. Not one word.
As are so many Wisconsinites and Americans, I am watching these horrifying events unfold in Washington, D.C. in disbelief. The peaceful transfer of power is at the very heart of our government and our country. This is an attack on our democracy. Period.
