@FabianLeedsNE, Breaking news! The Royal College of GPs has made the sensible and pragmatic decision to drop its opposition to assisted dying.
Like many of your constituents, I support law change for terminally ill adults. Please stand with us and support this vital reform.
@PompeySteph If you are only willing to interact with people who believe men can be women then yes life will be hard. It’s fairly common to be treated by health professionals with different beliefs to yours. It does not put you at risk.
@PompeySteph@SueSitsSeaside You might know what sex is but Dr Upton does not. When told he doesn't have a female body he said 'That has no definition. I'm female and have a body so biologically female.'
@PompeySteph@SueSitsSeaside This is where you lose me. Dr Upton is biologically male but most definitely has the right to live in whatever way they choose as long as it doesn’t have a detrimental effect on others. But you label someone transphobic when they are only speaking their truth it’s pretty toxic
@PompeySteph The biggest concern here is that a patients life could in the hands of a doctor like Dr Upton who is so separated from reality that he doesn’t know what sex he is.
@PompeySteph Where has it ever been suggested that she does not respect and would treat trans people any differently? You are deliberately misleading people with this bullshit. She did not want a biological male, with penis intact, watching her change in a supposedly safe environment- easy!
@gideonmack@PompeySteph Peggie had a right under the law to a single sex changing room and NHS Fife failed to provide that when they allowed Upton, who is legally and biologically male, to use it.
@gideonmack@PompeySteph This is nonsense. Peggie raised her concerns and was pretty much ignored by her managers. Upton raised his concerns and Peggie was suspended almost immediately without a chance to give her side of it. So the power was with Upton, hence having to go to tribunal which is ongoing.
@PompeySteph There’s a difference between offering treatment to a trans person and feeling threatened when you’re in a female changing room and a trans woman twice your size walks in whilst you’re having a vulnerable moment.
@PompeySteph I worry about coming into contact with dr & nurses like Du & Ed who don’t understand the differences between s3xes.
I fear having a dr like him who would violate my boundaries & be there if I requested same s3x treatment & the reaction if I say leave.
@PompeySteph ‘I did not sleep well last night. I suddenly thought about what Dr Beth Upton said about nurse Sandie Peggie, which left her "upset and afraid."’
The “her” in this sentence will be read by everyone as Peggie, because Dr Upton is a man like you and we use “he” to refer to men.
@PompeySteph If a 6'1 biological male, imposing himself into a woman's safe space, is "upset & afraid" by a slim 5'6 female who's 20 years older than him he's got resilience or power trip issues. Most likely nacissistic rage. That can be dangerous.
@PompeySteph You are defending a doctor who cant accurately define a woman, who is so fragile that their feelings get hurt at mere words .
I wouldnt want them looking after me.
So where does that leave us?
I have just as much right to be annoyed or angry as a trans person does
@PompeySteph Nonsense. Nurses treat patients with kindness, care and respect, including those patients with different faiths, religions and beliefs to their own. What this nurse was objecting to was a man in her female-only changing room
