Digital transformation has reshaped the landscape of gender-based violence, creating a new frontier where abuse can spread faster, wider, and with far greater harm. We cannot afford to be spectators.

🇦🇱 Albania is taking concrete action:
✅ Strengthening the legal framework against technology-facilitated violence
✅ Training institutions to investigate and respond to online abuse
✅ Integrating digital safety into school curricula
✅ Ensuring specialised services and support for victims
✅ Partnering with digital platforms and the tech community to enhance protection

🤝 We can end gender-based violence only by acting together — online and offline.

At 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 in Rome, I underlined that femicide is not solely a criminal justice matter. It is a public health emergency, a profound social justice concern and a human rights violation rooted in persistent gender inequality.

I am proud of Albania’s 🇦🇱 steadfast commitment to advancing prevention efforts, strengthening data collection, ensuring comprehensive protection for every woman and girl, and guaranteeing that femicide is fully recognised, effectively prevented and duly punished.

Ending femicide is not only a legal obligation — it is a fundamental human rights imperative.

It was a great meeting with the President of the Alliance Against Cancer in Italy, Prof. Ruggero De Maria. Our discussion focused on Albania’s 🇦🇱 ongoing efforts to further enhance cancer prevention, treatment, and care, including:

✅️ Establishing a National Oncological Network;
✅️ Advancing the development of the National Institute for Tumors;
✅️ Standardizing treatment protocols;
✅️ Expanding access to innovative clinical trials.

We look forward to deepening our cooperation with key 🇪🇺 European partners as we continue to build a modern, accessible, and evidence-based oncology system that delivers better outcomes for every patient.
