More than 40 years ago, I arrived in Chicago in search of an idea. I was a young man looking for purpose, who believed deeply in America, was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, and wanted to be a part of something larger. The America I believed in was one where everyone has opportunity, everyone is seen, everyone belongs—because that was an America that had a place for me, too.
Greetings from Kisoro, Uganda 👋
Where volcanic hills ripple across the horizon, and life grows layer by layer on terraced farms and in vibrant cross-border markets.
That same spirit of connection and service is reflected throughout Uganda’s Rotary network, which has more than 13,000 members, the second-largest in Africa.
Celebrating a phenomenal leader and a pillar of our club! 🌟 Happy Birthday to RTN Doreen Mugisha.

Let’s make 2025 the healthiest year ever.
Here are 12 powerful things that can transform your health—if you commit to them with deliberate effort.
1. Eat your last meal by 8.00pm. Preferably between 6.00pm and 7.00pm
Try not to eat anything after 8.00pm except water.
🧵
Bonus.
Love God.
While it is important to stay healthy, being healthy in itself isn’t the end goal.
The real goal of being healthy is to be able to serve God, love each other and live an abundant and fulfilled life.
I wish you a happy, blessed, healthy and fulfilled 2025🙏🏽.
Happy New Year! Here’s to a joyful and healthy 2025 🎊 We're looking forward to all we can achieve together this year. What projects does your #Rotary club have in store for the upcoming year?

1.On the Presence of Evil and Satan:
The existence of evil and suffering is one of the most challenging aspects of faith. Christianity teaches that God created beings with free will, including humans and angels. Satan, originally created as a good angel, chose to rebel against God, and this rebellion introduced evil. God allows free will because love must be freely chosen. A world without free will would make us mere robots, incapable of genuine relationships or moral growth.
Evil’s presence doesn’t reflect a cruel God but a God who respects our freedom to choose, even when it results in pain. Moreover, Christian belief emphasizes that God works through suffering to bring about redemption and growth.
2.On God Being Jealous:
The “jealousy” of God mentioned in the Bible isn’t the petty jealousy we associate with human emotions. It’s a profound desire for our undivided devotion, similar to the way a parent longs for the best for their child. God’s “jealousy” reflects His love for humanity and His desire to protect us from harm and spiritual destruction. It’s about wanting what’s best for us, not controlling us out of insecurity.
3.On God Being Unforgiving or Narcissistic:
Christianity teaches that God is the epitome of forgiveness, offering grace through Jesus Christ to anyone who seeks it. Stories like the Prodigal Son emphasize that God actively welcomes and forgives those who turn to Him. Far from being narcissistic, God’s focus is on humanity’s well-being, often putting His creation first by offering love and sacrifice (as exemplified by Jesus’ crucifixion).
4.On Her Work with Mental Health Issues:
Mental health struggles are real and profound, but they often stem from human conditions and circumstances rather than God’s character. It’s important to separate people’s negative perceptions of God from the essence of who He is. Christianity teaches that God is close to the brokenhearted and offers comfort, healing, and strength during life’s hardest moments.
5.On Communicating with God:
It’s significant that she feels she has communicated with God and experienced His presence. This suggests that she acknowledges His existence and connection with humanity. If she has felt His presence, it’s worth asking why she felt that connection and exploring what it says about God’s nature.
