Drying of the Aral Sea has released more than 200 teragrams of carbon from exposed lake-bed sediments, transforming the region from a carbon sink into a carbon source, according to a new study in Science.

The US is waging a coordinated propaganda campaign against Cuba for three reasons:

1) To deflect from the fact that the US has been strangling Cuba to death for decades with a trade embargo and sanctions.

2) To deflect from what is happening in the US, where capitalism is failing to meet the needs of its own people while the rich get richer.

3) To manufacture consent to invade Cuba so the US can attempt to seize and privatize Cuba’s industries and resources in order to further enrich the US billionaire class.

If the US really wanted to help Cuba, it would lift the embargo instead of peddling propaganda and threatening an invasion, as Trump has done several times now.

🚨 OFFICER STRUCK! 18-year-old Hunter Meyer from Rothschild charged after striking a female Milwaukee police officer with his car in the Water Street District.

Officers responding to shots fired gave commands to stop. Meyer ignored them, accelerated, and struck the female officer in the leg before fleeing. Multiple officers fired at the Audi as he led a high-speed chase, ran a red light, crashed into another vehicle, then ran on foot and was arrested nearby with gunshot wounds. A gun was recovered from his car.

Meyer faces multiple felony charges including first-degree recklessly endangering safety, hit-and-run causing injury, fleeing an officer, and carrying a concealed weapon.

MPD released video of the incident. This kind of reckless behavior striking an officer and fleeing through city streets puts everyone at risk.
