Something a bit different for me. Milky Way from Tan Hill 8 August. Bortle 3 at the zenith, with some lovely distant light pollution
1st test out of my Canon R6 & Samyang 14mm lens at f/2.8, stars at the edges rescued by BlurXT v2
Don't throw away those crappy lenses just yet!
I love the fact that you are always learning new things in Astrophotography. Same data but 1 year older…and slightly wiser I hope. 😉 A bit of an improvement here if I do say so myself. #Astrophotography@WilliamOptics @zwoasi #M42#space#IC434
This is one of those times when you look at an image before finishing it and think.....”Nah, you can keep your stars and I’ll just have the nebulosity” 😆 Data from @TelescopeLiveHQ and edited by me. @SkyandTelescope @AstronomyNow #astrophotography
@AndyW_Astro Yeah the FR is normally on back order at most places. I managed to pick one up second-hand that was a few weeks old. Just need the skies to clear up more now.
@clarkjames70 Very nice James. I tried it last year at 400mm (wider field) but the colours were so far off before pre-processing across the two nights I ended up scrapping it. 😆 I had much better luck with the one at 1960mm 🤪
Pleased to present the Whirlpool Galaxy - probably 30mn light years away, tho some sources say 23mn
What an amazing object!
I added 28h of HaLRGB mono data to 22h of OSC data from last year for this image

First light on the EdgeHD 8.
A quick process of 10 x 120s subs.
Quite pleased as a first go, with only 20mins integration.
Full frame, no cropping.
No cal files.

FINALLY! 1st time using the @Celestron Edge HD11” to image inc the 1st time using an OAG! and 1st attempt but heavy crop of M51. A bit soft but will use a higher res cam next time. Happy with this for a first go! 😄shot over 2 nights using a @zwoasi 071-MC Pro. #astrophotography
I added mono data thro April to last years OSC for these Pinwheel Galaxy images (M101)
The close up is the EdgeHD FOV - I liked the other objects in the wider angle, using the RGB data from my 106mm refractor to create the wider field mosaic.
