@PureBredGay To add: we celebrate birthdays all wrong.
If you have your first birthday on the 17th - you completed your first year of life on the 16th. 17 June 2024 to 16 June 2025 is a full year, right?
On the 17th, you're commencing day one of year 2. So why is it your FIRST birthday?
@TheWealthGuy_@PaulBongiorno Throwing low-income out on the street just makes the problem cycle around forever.
If you have someone who is in public housing, then "moved on", then evicted because they can't pay standard rent, they aren't on their feet - they're back at the start.
@JenChappo@deemadigan@McDonalds If you look up "stand down" on the Fair Work Ombudsman's website, you'll see that it's perfectly legal in limited scenarios.
@lila_dsouza@deemadigan@McDonalds No, they're not. An employer can legally stand an employee down without pay where there is no work because of situations outside the employer's control.
It normally applies to natural disaster, but a police evacuation would absolutely fall into that definition.
@vasalex93 @NotJacqueFresco @joncoopertweets You keep telling yourself that.
America routinely places near the bottom of developed nations on the freedom index.
Freedom isn't the right to blow another person's head off.
@ktbhonest1@DoodyDarren@lesstenny Of course we have our problems. The housing shortage is a big one.
We actually *do* have people fixing it.
What happens when America faces a problem? "Oh, thoughts and prayers".
@vasalex93 @NotJacqueFresco @joncoopertweets It's not like civilian gun ownership has stopped the rise of the tyrannical government you currently have. So what's the benefit?
