#IndianArmy contingent has departed to participate in the 11th edition of India-Seychelles Exercise #LAMITIYE, scheduled from 09 to 20 March 2026 at the Seychelles Defence Academy.
This first Tri-Services edition will focus on enhancing joint operational capabilities in semi-urban terrain to counter hostile threats.
The exercise reflects the deepening Defence Cooperation and enduring partnership between India and Seychelles in the Indian Ocean Region.

Indian delegation led by Joint Secretary Shri Amitabh Prasad called on Commander of the Kenya Navy Maj Gen Paul Otien at Mtongwe Naval Base today. Discussions focused on enhancing naval cooperation through deeper engagement between the two Navies.

Forging stronger 🇮🇳 🇰🇪 defence cooperation
The 4th meeting of the India-Kenya Joint Defence Coordination Committee (JDCC) was held in Nairobi today. Joint Secretary (International Cooperation), Ministry of Defence of India, Mr Amitabh Prasad co-chaired the meeting along-with his Kenyan counterpart Maj General Fredrick Leuria, ACDF(OPD&T).
The two sides held wide-ranging talks on enhancing defence cooperation in various fields as outlined in the joint MoU on Defence Cooperation and the BAHARI maritime vision document.
The delegations expressed appreciation for the recent developments in defence cooperation after the 3rd JDCC meeting, including the participation of VCDF, KDF in AEROINDIA 2025, the commissioning of the CT Scan complex, joint unveiling of India-Africa Commemorative Pilllar, multiple IN & ICG ship port calls at Mombasa, the visit of Kenya Navy Commander to India in Sep 2025 and again for #IFR, #MILAN, #IONS 2026 and the successful conduct of 3rd edition of India-Kenya Defence Exhibition and Seminar.

Major General Paul Owuor Otieno, Commander of the Kenya Navy, visited Goa Shipyard Limited (#GSL) and held discussions with Shri Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay, CMD, and the senior leadership team.

An MoU was signed today between the High Commission of India and the Seychelles Defence Forces for the donation of 10 Utility Vehicles and 5 Laser Boats to the SDF.
An important announcement during the State Visit of President Dr Patrick Herminie's State Visit to India, this donation will bolster the logistics capabilities of the SDF.
India-Seychelles bilateral maritime security and defence cooperation continues to strengthen.
