I will advise you to become a mad man.
Or mad woman. Anyhow.
Just be mad.
Mad about the things that matter to you.
Mad about the kind of life you want for yourself.
You will win.
If you’re applying for Australia Awards, are you making this mistake too 😱…
It’s not about your GPA.
It’s about your country.
You are not being funded to study.
You are being funded to solve a problem back home.
That means your application must show:
– a real national problem
– skills you’ll gain in Australia
– how you’ll return and apply them
No clear link = weak application.
Also, small mistakes matter more than you think:
Wrong format. Missing templates.
People get rejected for this.
I explained this properly in my full video. Link in bio.

Top Mistakes to Avoid in Your Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Application - LESSONS FROM A REAPPLICANT
Every year, brilliant Nigerians miss out on the Erasmus Mundus scholarship, not for lack of intelligence, but because of simple, avoidable mistakes.
Having applied for this scholarship twice myself, I have seen first-hand where many applicants go wrong.
If you’re planning to apply this year, read this carefully and avoid these pitfalls 👇
✨1. Applying Without Researching the Program
- Copy pasting the same SOP for all programs without tailoring it.
- Not understanding the program’s mobility track or focus area.
- Choosing a program only because of the “countries” instead of career fit.
✨2. Weak Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- Writing a personal life story without connecting it to the program.
- Overusing clichés like “I have always been passionate about…” without substantial examples.
- Not showing clear career goals and how Erasmus will help achieve them.
- Making it too long or too short (not following word count guidelines).
✨3. Poor Academic CV
- Using a generic job-seeking CV instead of an academic one.
- Not including research, academic projects, volunteer work, or conferences.
- Missing important sections like publications, skills, or relevant coursework.
✨4. Weak Recommendation Letters
- Asking referees who barely know you for recommendation letters
- Not briefing referees on what to highlight.
- Using recommendation letters that are too generic and not tailored to Erasmus.
✨5. Ignoring Eligibility or Application Instructions
- Missing document formatting requirements (for example ignoring the use of PDF formats only or incorrect naming of documents).
- Uploading incomplete transcripts or unofficial results.
- Applying for a program without meeting the language or degree requirements.
✨6. Not Showcasing Achievements Properly
- Hiding leadership roles, volunteer work, and projects because they think “it’s not relevant.”
- Failing to highlight impact e.g., “Organized a health campaign for 200 students” instead of “Organized a campaign.”
✨7. Poor Time Management
- Rushing to apply the night before the deadline.
- Not giving referees enough time to write letters.
- Skipping proofreading, leading to typos and errors in documents.
✨8. Weak Connection Between Profile & Program
- Applying for a program unrelated to their academic background or career path without explaining the switch.
- Not showing how their past experience prepares them for the program’s courses.
✨9. Overlooking Extra Opportunities in the Application
- Not mentioning scholarships, awards, or online courses completed.
- Ignoring extracurricular activities that prove adaptability and teamwork.
✨10. Lack of Professionalism in Communication
- Writing casual or poorly worded SOP and academic CV.
- Using unprofessional email address like [email protected] to apply for the scholarship
✨11. Only First Class Graduates Win the Scholarship
This is a big myth! Yes, strong CGPA matter, but Erasmus looks at your overall profile such as: motivation, experience, leadership, and how well you fit into the program. Many Nigerians with 2:1 have won, and even some with a 2:2.

How to write your Erasmus Mundus Motivation Letter:
To begin with, there is no general ways to write it as program requirement and prompts differs depending on what they are looking for. However, some programs still want to know your motivation without any prompts.
1. The opening paragraph should tell the selection committee the motivation behind your application to their program. Your motivation can come from different experiences such as the environment you grew up, prevailing diseases and the impact it had your country , hands-on lab experience, energy related problems, war/crime and insecurity, political & economic instability, etc. This can form your opening paragraph.
2. The second paragraph should talk about your academic qualification. What did you study in your undergraduate degree? What classes did you took that relates closely with your chosen program and your grade if you graduate with a good GPA.
3. The third paragraph should be about your research experience. Here you need to summarise what research you have carried out. Don’t repeat what you put down in your CV. Instead, talk about what you did, how you did them and the result you obtained using the STAR (situation, task, action and result) approach. You can mention the tools/techniques you used for example in STEM related program python, R, synthesis, NMR, IR, UV molecular biology, protein and gene expression, DFT, schlenk line techniques and other tools you used during your research.
4. The fourth paragraph should be about what the program is going to give you. The curriculum is designed such that you’ve got to study in at least two different European countries. These countries offers different experience. Talk about the exposure, multicultural experience you’ll gain including opportunity to do internship in the industry etc.
5. The final paragraph should be about your career goal , future plan and conclusion.

Good day @victorosimhen9@_AsiwajuLerry@boniface_jrn
My name is Gbolahan Olaniyi, a survivor of banditry. I write to you with deep humility and hope, using this rare privilege to seek your kind support in a time of great need.
My family has been through a painful and life-altering experience. My mother was forced to pay a ransom of ₦17 million just to secure our safety. Since then, the burden of this debt has weighed heavily on her, both emotionally and financially. Despite her strength and resilience, it has not been easy for us to recover.
So far, we have received ₦495,000 in donations on X, ₦1,200,000 through Instagram (thanks to Daddy Freeze), and my mum and I have managed to repay ₦400,000 ourselves.
Despite all these efforts, we still have an outstanding balance of ₦4.2 million.
Our business has suffered, and survival has become a daily struggle. It is heartbreaking to watch my mother carry this burden alone after everything she has already endured.
Sir, I humbly appeal to your generosity and compassion. Any financial assistance you can offer will go a long way in helping us clear this debt and begin to rebuild our lives again.
Your support would not just ease our burden—it would restore hope to a family that has been through so much.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
May God continue to bless and uplift you.
