A lot of our present discontent is downstream from the fact that Obama broke a lot of people’s hearts. He promised hope and change, didn’t deliver all that much of it, then retreated to a quiet life of opulence and golfing. Ever since we’ve had a politics dominated by cynicism.

@eorre_ecc @MattBruenig No, they don’t. Military service is voluntary. If service were mandatory then preference would make sense - it was originally created for wounded draftees and expanded over time. Veteran hiring preference without conscription makes zero sense.
