Pope Leo XIV in a very practical Lenten Message to all Christians says:
“I would like to invite you to a very practical and frequently unappreciated form of abstinence: that of refraining from words that offend and hurt our neighbor. Let us begin by disarming our language, avoiding harsh words and rash judgement, refraining from slander and speaking ill of those who are not present and cannot defend themselves. Instead, let us strive to measure our words and cultivate kindness and respect in our families, among our friends, at work, on social media, in political debates, in the media and in Christian communities. In this way, words of hatred will give way to words of hope and peace.”

From 25M to 110M: Ethiopia’s New Mega airport, to be Africa’s largest, Will Rival World’s Busiest Hubs
ETHIOPIAN Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has officially broken ground on a mega $12.5 billion aviation hub set to become the largest in Africa, signaling a massive shift in global transit power.
-THE SCALE OF A TITAN-
The new facility in Bishoftu isn't just an upgrade; it is a structural revolution. With a footprint designed to dwarf current regional leaders, the numbers behind the project are staggering:
·110 Million Passengers: At full capacity, the airport will handle more than four times the traffic of the current Bole International Airport.
· 270 Aircraft Bays: The tarmac is engineered to accommodate 270 planes simultaneously.
· 4 Massive Runways: Designed to facilitate constant, high-volume international traffic.
· $12.5 Billion Investment: A massive financial undertaking backed by Ethiopian Airlines and an $8.7 billion international fundraising drive led by the Africa Development Bank.
-HIGH-SPEED CONNECTIVITY-
To bridge the 45km gap to Addis Ababa, the project isn't just looking at the sky, but the ground as well. The infrastructure includes:
·A 38-km high-speed railway with trains reaching 200 kph.
·A dedicated multi-lane motorway connecting the capital directly to the terminal.
"This will be the largest aviation infrastructure in Africa, a gateway that redefines how the world connects to our continent." — Project Vision.
Sometimes, these Ethiopians get it. In the blood-soaked 2020-2022 Tigray vs Addis Ababa war, I nearly wrote them off.
2025 had its challenges, but I never gave up. I showed up and grew, even when it felt heavy. Looking back, I see how much strength I gained from God in ways I didn’t notice before. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance. Here’s to new beginnings!
“Everybody talks about wanting to change things and help and fix, but ultimately all you can do is fix yourself. And that's a lot. Because if you can fix yourself, it has a ripple effect.”
― Rob Reiner (1947 - 2025)
“Find someone easier,” people said. I chose the boy with darker skin and Sam became the light I was missing. When I told my mom, she begged me to stop. “People won’t understand. You’ll get hurt,” she said. But my heart had already chosen. At the orphanage, a boy sat on the cold floor, fixing a toy with tape. Dark skin. Big eyes that didn’t trust. The worker whispered, “He doesn’t talk much. He doesn’t expect to leave.” I knelt down. “Hey, Sam,” I said. A moment passed. Then a small hand reached out and touched my sleeve. That single touch changed everything. The first night, Sam lined up shoes by the door — ready to run. I left the light on. Just in case. Weeks later, laughter filled that same room. Strangers stared in grocery aisles. One woman asked, “Are you sure he’s yours?” I smiled. “More than you could ever know.” Years went fast. Now Sam drives me to the clinic. Reminds me to eat. Covers me with a blanket when I fall asleep on the couch. The boy the world didn’t want — became the one who keeps me alive” Credit: Emma Isabella Via FB
