Milford Track is an awesome hike that will leave you speechless multiple times during the walk. And zero reception for four days straight just makes it even better!

Carrying 19kg of gear (including food and water) does a bit of damage to your body. However, the track is not too challenging when the weather is nice. Not everyone is that lucky though … and you can easily end up crossing rivers in waist deep water.

The weather was amazing. It was mostly sunny apart from a little bit of fog over the McKinnon Pass. BTW, the Fiordland is one of the wettest parts in the world with an average of 9000mm of rainfall annually.

The hike starts at lake Te Anau and ends in Milford Sound. On the way you also get to see the Sutherland Falls. Quite impressive (and extremely cold) being able to swim at the bottom of the fifth tallest waterfall in the world.

Milford Track - 53.5km and 4 days of hiking off-grid through one of the nicest places in New Zealand. FYI, the hike is typically sold out within 5 minutes a year in advance when the bookings are open!
