What a pleasure it is hearing Dion Dublin be so effusive, passionate and excited about this #worldcup after enduring the dull tones of Dixon on itv.
Break out the Dube!

Yep.
I once complained to BBC when Graham Norton was told he couldnt wear a red ribbon for World Aids Day just a few weeks after *everyone* on Beeb wore poppies for Remembrance Day.
Poppies get this magical free pass, even tho £ goes to RBL which is certainly political
@JohnCleese This may be a sign Cleese isn't actually running his verified account, because I just don't believe he'd say "less" rather than "fewer" here, and I'm 100% serious
Wow.
Sinner stops, cramping and not feeling well.
He was 5-1 up in the 3rd, now *5-4 0-40.
Says he is feeling dizzy and leaves the court for an off court MTO.
@KirstieMAllsopp@lowercaselevity Kirstie seems to hold this untenable, illogical position that transwomen are not women because of their biology, but that its rude to call them 'men' or use male pronouns, even though that, too, is simply a reference to their biology. Tweaking sense & logic so as to not offend
Reading Michael Palin's diaries, specifically "Halfway to Hollywood" & his interactions are quite prescient, if thats the right word.
Lunch with a "young man...called Jeffrey Katzenberg", popping into the Comedy Cellar to see Twentieth Century Coyote (Rik Mayall/ Ade Edmondson)
@void_if_removed Great piece, and having listened to the podcast I feel this 👇 is the heart of the matter.
This was the point to ask "what is gender identity?", but they skip over that because 'trans ppl exist'. But this Q is FUNDAMENTAL if you propose to tackle this subject with any integrity
I quite like Manchester Orchestra (thanks to CBB), but having them here does feel like its just cos they have the word Manchester in their name lol (they're American fyi)
@vixoconn Exactly how you'd want it to work if the segregation were based on gender - men use the mens, & women use the women's.
Only its sex (which is universal and objective), so if it's easier for you, for 'men' read biological male and for 'women', biological female
@AthelwulfG@adiosmuchachos4@Petersbrooking@sufcBilly@Tom_Rowsell Well firstly, because they're not English. If I'm talking about, say , Scott Morrison (former Aussie PM) one would say he's Australian. Cos he's from Australia. At most, you would say "Australian with English heritage", and it would be silly to describe him as an Englishman
@AthelwulfG@adiosmuchachos4@Petersbrooking@sufcBilly@Tom_Rowsell So this means that you'd describe, for example, a man born in Australia, whose parents were born there etc, as an "Englishman" (by presumed virtue of the fact his great great great grandparents landed there 200 years ago..)?
@FraserMyers If the burqa is an item of oppression (which historically I'm certain is true), why mock the item, or its wearer, and place the onus upon the oppressed? If women are being *forced* to wear them, then chanting "take it off!" is akin to telling a slave to "take off" their chains.
