DPP’s current team is leaving Denver. It’s sad! If there’s anyone who interested in taking over, shoot us a DM and we can chat. We had some cool stuff planned!
And here's the story on @CBSDenver from @KarenMorfitt & @CBS4Mark featuring @DenBicycleLobby's own @iBikeCommute & @spencemcc.
Great job all!

DPP friends and family! Some sad news. Curt and I are moving on— I got a job in DC and he’s applying to law school. Hard to be the Denver policy project when you’re not here.
So, if you or anyone you know is interested in taking over the Denver Policy Project, shoot us a dm. We’ve got some things we can hand off and some stuff we already paid for that you can use!
@Yimbyindenver The cool thing about this ruling is that Lyft & Uber may have to significantly change their business model and move from something that’s just generally bad for everyone involved (including shareholders, excluding riders) to something prosocial. Probably naive and optimistic, but
My lukewarm-ish take is that rideshare maybe/probably has a place, but only with all externalities (environmental, labor, congestion, safety, et al) priced in and thus much more expensive.
Ride share is terrible for a lot o reasons, one of which it gives politicians the excuse to not invest in transit and non auto infrast, not to mention excuses them from examining land use and housing. If it's relying on total exploitation of its workforce, it's not sustainable.
Thinking about applying to a redistricting commission? Every week we'll provide a tip. Tip #1: Apply to both commissions! If you want to be considered for both commissions, you MUST apply to each commission separately.
@AmandaMtn Absolutely true, and yet... it’s probably because I’m so used to low-functioning, underfunded public transit, but it FEELS suboptimal for some cases. Which I recognize isn’t a good reason and just very selfish and privileged.
E.g. if I need to get to a job interview or a date or something and timing is really important as well as not getting sweaty. I don’t know if there’s a viable business mode there. But it feels like there’s a place albeit at a much higher price to users.
Reminds me of the time I was canvassing for Jason Crow in HR and my friend asked me if this neighborhood was unsafe because of all the home security signs and NRA logos on SUVs. For those of us who live in the city and know our neighbors, we don’t live in terror all the time.
