Proven oil reserves in Venezuela amount to approximately 303 billion barrels, which, according to Trump, are now “controlled by the United States.”

With oil prices currently trading at around $57 per barrel, Venezuela’s total oil reserves are valued at roughly $17.3 trillion.

In other words, the U.S. has gained control over oil reserves whose value exceeds the combined GDP of all countries in the world (excluding the United States and China).

Not a bad addition to U.S. GDP… achieved in just ~12 hours 😏
