FliteGrid Updates:
.Hardware and specs.
Within two weeks, we’ll receive the next round of FliteGrid hardware prototypes - the production revision. These will be powered and recording drone data, at which point we can measure power draw and record exact specifications. We’ll put out a document containing this information at that time.
.Timelines.
Our current target is to deploy finalized hardware in test locations by mid to late November. Shipping timelines will be set after that, once the manufacturer confirms what they can deliver and when.
.Hex requests.
We’ve received around 1,600 requests so far for additional hexes to be brought online. A number of these will be unlocked in the coming weeks, and we’ll be performing reviews internally on a regular cadence thereafter. New hexes will be introduced on a predictable schedule and pending users will receive updates over email.
.Help us with a decision.
Hardware devices will be powered over PoE. Ethernet cables will not be included, simply because every deployment will require a different length of cable. Some users will need a PoE injector, and we’re deciding whether to include one of these based on the prevalence of need. Would you like a PoE injector to be included? Fill out this two minute survey so we can determine how much of the community would benefit from this: https://t.co/9zkClrH9xu
As always, any questions you have can be posed in our Discord channel at https://t.co/LmETQv1vyJ. If you’re interested in hosting a sensor on your roof for $600/year, you can check your location’s eligibility at https://t.co/SLpkN0WmD6.
Things are about to start moving quickly and we are very excited about the progress.
@turnkit@FliteGrid Power will be PoE, so cable won’t be included as every installation will require a different length of Ethernet cable. We are gauging the need for a PoE injector atm though, and may include one of those. There is a poll in the Discord right now if you have an opinion.
On the plus side, I had to close out a leveraged Aave position to move my funds to a safe wallet, requiring me to sell a bunch of ETH before the drop. So my thanks to the Dear Leader for that one 🫡
I’ve been targeted by the North Koreans twice this year and it will happen to you too.
They are getting extremely sophisticated with their social engineering, this latest attempt involved them hacking the Telegram of a guy I knew IRL, asking me to set up a call, then presenting an AI-generated video of him like I was talking to the person I thought I knew.
Do not fall for this stuff, do not keep a storage wallet on the computer you use for work, and do not ever click anything!
It’s not a black swan, bc it’s not a single event, and everyone saw this coming.
This is just the first event in a new paradigm.
Digital security has quietly rested on the fact that skilled attackers are rare and targets are nearly endless, so most systems were safe because no capable attacker ever got around to them. AI now gives attackers superhuman cyber capabilities with nearly endless bandwidth.
The headline breaches will come. But the real story is everyone, down to the individual, getting attacked repeatedly. If it's connected, assume it's already being worked on.
I was targeted by a phishing attempt again yesterday. Nothing was taken and all passwords have been changed, but please reach out here if you get a strange DM from me on any platform.
Also, this post is not part of an even more elaborate phishing attempt, just to confirm.
PSA: Don't fly your drone into a US airport!
If you live near one though, do check the FliteGrid hex map. You can earn $50 a month for monitoring UAV traffic in your area.

When we talk about active contracts with the DOW, DHS, and CBP, this is what we mean.
Cartels are using drones to cross our border, and @SkySafe helps alert the military to their presence.
Every time you deploy for FliteGrid, you add one more set of eyes.
