Shouldn’t we be trying to give these kids as many opportunities as we could? Either decision results in severely limiting opportunities for these kids.

We just had a turkey bowl and so many amazing athletes who came out told us how much they wished they had athletics when they went to school…

@MikeBasic2 @Colewhite22 @slytle77 @AZSPORTSNETWORK @TheBeli15058865 It was our first time ever having JV football at the school, and again, this was definitely a consequence of the combined enrollment but also greatly impacted by the excitement building around the program. Many 1A teams have had JV teams for a long time.

@AZSPORTSNETWORK @slytle77 @TheBeli15058865 I would be more than happy to compete in 2A with the combined enrollment; however, I was told Co-ops in 2A can’t compete in postseason competitions. For me, the postseason is the accumulation of growth in the athletes. How can you build a program if you can’t compete in playoffs?

@MikeBasic2 @slytle77 @AZSPORTSNETWORK @TheBeli15058865 Many 1A programs have just as many, if not more athletes on their football teams. This was Coach Justin’s second year with the program. If you could see the work he put in and how these great athletes loved him and bought in, you would understand why we had success last year.

When kids see great coaching and dedication from a coach they love, they flock to the program and compete at a high level.

@slytle77 @AZSPORTSNETWORK @TheBeli15058865 Maybe one day they will? I honestly don’t know what they’re going to do after it’s dissolved. I’m all for them having athletics there but they don’t have the infrastructure as of right now to have it.

@AzSmallBallFan1 @SmallBallPodAZ Yes this is true that they haven’t had enough time to practice, although I would argue that Hayden athletes who played football should be better off in the long run. Playing physical football should help them in basketball.
