19-year-old Angelina Nechvolod died on February 4, 2025, in Izium, Kharkiv region. She was caught in a Russian ballistic attack.

Angelina was born in Kharkiv. In 2008, she moved with her mother and sister to the village of Pidlyman in the Izium district. She obtained a qualification as a pastry chef and worked in a supermarket chain for a while.

On February 4, 2025, Angelina came from Kharkiv to the Izium Public Service Center. After handling her affairs, she accidentally met her sister, Alexandra, in the city. They went for coffee. When they returned to the car, the Russian army hit the nearby State Migration Service building with a ballistic missile. The sisters were killed.

"My daughter had a talent for baking, she loved making pizza," said her mother, Victoria. "They were both wonderful girls, very close. Angelina even baptized Sasha's son."

Angelina was in her fourth month of pregnancy. She was planning a wedding in the summer. She is survived by her fiancé, parents, and brother.

Even if you truly don’t need help, the normal human reaction would be gratitude and respect: these people are bleeding in a war and still willing to share their experience. Instead, Ukraine was publicly humiliated.

The irony is that the U.S. itself has been learning from Ukraine’s battlefield experience. Eric Schmidt developed the Merops anti-drone system. Built with input from Ukrainian fighters and tested on the front lines, it uses small interceptor drones to shoot down Russian attack drones.

Each Merops interceptor costs roughly $14,000–$15,000, which is already far cheaper than traditional air-defense missiles. But Ukrainian-made interceptor drones used on the battlefield are several times cheaper still, which is exactly why countries in the Gulf have been looking closely at Ukrainian solutions.

The U.S. is now rushing 10,000 Merops interceptors to the Middle East.

Ukraine’s battlefield expertise is now shaping Western air defense.

Yet the same Ukraine is told its help isn’t needed.

Ukraine didn’t push its experience on anyone.
The world came to Ukraine – because no one else has fought this war at this scale.

That experience was written in blood. And it deserves respect.
