It's been a long time since my last update for Derelicts!
I've quit my job last year and partnered up with a longtime friend. We're now fulltime working on the game, slowly laying each brick to get the mechanics right.

@AviusL Totally correct! I've set a timer for them to disappear quite quickly so it doesn't affect the performance too much. That way, if the 4 players are cutting tree down altogether, it should be handled quite well. But I'll probably add an option to not spawn the particles as well :)
After a lot of tweaking, the tree chopping finally feels more organic:
- Performant chop effect
- Random debris on axe impact + debris falling from the top.
- Shaking branches and leaves on fall impact + dust and floating leaves
- Impactful sound (impacts, crackling after hit..)
@AviusL Haha, yeah, I was using some attack animations but the left swing definitely doesn't make sense at all! I'll have it removed completely and keep a slower right swing. It will look much better! :) Thank you for the feedback!
@jifferey Yeah, I'll need to change the left swing as it looks too weird and doesn't really make sense. I think I'll also slow down the right swing a bit so it feels more impactful. Thanks for the feedback, JFJ!
@softlikeshadows Yeah, there are two animations, a left swing and a right swing. But the left swing looks really weird and too fast. I'll need to remove it and slow down the right swing so it feels better! :) Thank you for the feedback!
