What's your story for a time you failed and became better? What was your greatest failure? How badly did you screw up? What did you learn from it? How have you grown? Let them know that mistakes are something you bounce back from and become even better for.
You are your actions. Not your thoughts. Imposter syndrome is a bitch and it will rear its ugly-ass head into your thoughts every time you enjoy a win you deserved. Especially one you fought tooth and nail for. Focus on doing something rather than thinking. It'll pass soon enough
Let's abolish the line of thinking that your career path has to be linear. It doesn't. I know plenty of amazing people who started out in jobs they hated or had little relevance to their passion. Bide your time, learn, and explore new things. Most of all trust your process.
I am bringing back my Cybersecurity mentorship program next year God willing. I will mentor and guide 30 people interested in starting a career in Cybersecurity. I will support them till they get their first job.
