@deltaIV9250 Nah, Stoke Space has this figured out already. Stoke uses a liquid-hydrogen regenerative heat shield: during reentry, LH2 flows inside channels in the metallic heat shield. Starship going to have to eventually ditch the tiles and do something like this.
