On Friday (13.09.24) DGI representatives, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment, & the Chairperson of the Architecture & Real Estate Department presented an award (Sponsored by DGI) to the Best Student in Architecture at the UZ’s 43rd Graduation Ceremony.
1/1 On the 22nd & 23rd of November 2023, DGI facilitated the Zimbabwe WASH Joint Sector Review meeting for the National Action Committee (NAC) for WASH. Delegates who attended the meeting came from national & local government, development partners, CSOs and the private sector.
2/2 Deliberations were held around 3 thematic areas namely urban water supply & sanitation, rural water supply, & capacity development. The key takeaways included creating space for more private sector input & encouraging residents to pay for services.
On the 16th of October 2023, DEGI held a policy seminar on an institutional framework for sustainable infrastructure development and service delivery in Victoria Ranch Settlement, Masvingo Province.

DEGI is concluding a baseline survey and stakeholder mapping on social accountability and oversight in health and Agriculture in eight selected wards of Binga and Mutoko Districts. The Survey was commissioned by Action Aid Zimbabwe.
The marginalised in Urban communities deserves clean water, sanitation and a healthy environment. The implementation of policies like the WASH pro-poor policy will be of great impact to the excluded Urban residence. The policy prioritise providing affordable basic WASH services
The Urban Informality Forum hosted at the University of Zimbabwe was a great success. Prime elements that were discussed included the process of acquiring title deeds. There was also an in depth discussion on land access and tenure.
