If you buy something for 5k, GST is 900, You pay 5900

MDR 0.4% applied on 5900 & not 5k which is 23.6

Then, there is again GST of 18% on MDR which makes MDR charges 27.8

So effectively, MDR is 0.56% and not 0.4%

The NCLT’s approval of a repayment plan of a meagre ₹6.5 crore against claims of ₹22,006.57 crore involving Zee Group founder Subhash Chandra exposes the deep nexus between big corporate interests and the BJP. His close ties with the BJP and the Sangh Parivar only make this clearer. While the poor face harsh consequences for even small defaults, the rich and powerful continue to receive favourable treatment at the expense of ordinary taxpayers. This blatant injustice cannot be allowed to pass. The NCLT order must be reversed, and the interests of ordinary people must take precedence over those of the powerful.

The NCLT cleared a debt resolution plan allowing Essel Group founder #SubhashChandra to settle creditor claims of about 22,000 crore rupees by paying 6.5 crore rupees. The decision represents a 99.97% haircut for lenders and a recovery of just 0.03%.

Congress leaders criticised the move, while Chandra said he was only a personal guarantor and that the claims against him were misrepresented.
