This morning was a good one!
We had the pleasure of hosting Karisimbi Shallon and Viateur Bicali from @DiDe_Rwanda , an organisation working to support vulnerable communities across Rwanda.
We love meeting people who are just as passionate about impact as we are!
Today at @DA_vienna, Amb. @urujeniB delivered closing remarks at the International Conference | Learning from the Past, Shaping the Future: Remembrance, Reconciliation and Reintegration – the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
“Addressing genocide and mass violence requires more than one perspective. It requires different tools working together.
History, justice, remembrance, and education each contribute to our collective understanding on how genocide and mass violence unfold; ways to strengthen accountability and recognise early warning signs to act.
At the same time, it is within communities, alongside survivors, that this work takes real shape. This is where reconciliation and reintegration take root, and where the social fabric is gradually rebuilt through the slow pace needed for healing”.
She highlighted the critical need to prepare the reintegration of women inmates convicted of genocide crimes, emphasizing healing and sustainable social cohesion.
On March 23,2026, the Executive Director of DIDE participated in an international conference in Austria on “Learning from the Past, Shaping the Future: Remembrance, Reconciliation & Reintegration – The 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.”
On International women’s Day, let's remember these women are more than their crimes. They're mothers, daughters, sisters. They deserve a second chance, hope&dignity.Let's not their past define their future. They're not alone, they're ours. Let's visit them, offer love& support.

Today, Permanent Secretary @Emahoro1 joined stakeholders to reflect on the results of the “Reinforcing Community Capacity for Social Cohesion and Reconciliation through Societal Healing” program, implemented since 2021 by Interpeace Rwanda, Prison Fellowship Rwanda, Haguruka, and Dignite en Détention (DIDE).
He commended the program’s achievements in strengthening national unity, supporting healing, and enhancing community resilience, noting that these gains should be sustained through continued investment in social reintegration, empowering youth as agents of peace, and improving coordination among actors involved in healing and reconciliation.
He also highlighted ongoing challenges, including the continued presence of genocide ideology in the region, the reintegration of perpetrators of the Genocide against the Tutsi some of whom still hold divisive beliefs, harmful social media activity particularly operating abroad, and limited historical knowledge among young people.
He called for strengthened collaboration in peace education, meaningful youth engagement, and broader societal healing.
