Different participants to the presentation of the Dialogue Review commended those who brought @DialogueRwanda after the Genocide against the Tutsi, authors, editorial team and particulary for writing this special issue of peace in the great lakes and encourage this to continue.
Dr. @AlexMvuka unpacked the FDLR’s evolution, its influence within the #DRC, and the complex challenges of demobilisation; raising critical questions about its continued security implications for #Rwanda and the wider Great Lakes region.
Amb. Joseph Mutaboba warned that genocide ideology did not end in 1994 but continues to manifest across the Great Lakes region. A reminder of the need to recognise, confront and dismantle ideologies that fuel hatred and violence.
Hon. Antoine Mugesera gave a historical overview of the @DialogueRwanda and presented his article, “Who Could Stop the Genocide Against the Rwandophone Tutsi in the DRC?” highlighting its key arguments & questions about the history and experiences of Rwandophone Tutsi in the #DRC
During a panel discussion moderated by @SandraShenge, Hon. Antoine Mugesera shared insights on the history of genocide in the #DRC, Amb. Joseph Mutaboba discussed genocide ideology in the Great Lakes region, and Dr. @AlexMvuka explored the FDLR’s role in regional conflicts.
