@Kris_NUFC Revisionism. He was a rotation option for your wingers/midfielders and if you really believed in him then you would've sold someone else. Forest turned him into an established England international and £100m+ player.

@jpayne2000 @rcolvile It's missing Alli, Henderson and Walker who were all key players but still a fairly ropey team. The squads of 2021 onwards were a massive step up (Saka, Rashford, Bellingham, Rice in particular).

@robbopalmer People are way too strict with the definition IMO. In what world is Vini Jr *not* world class? He’s a star player for Real Madrid and Brazil, of course he is. If you’re a key player for a top 8 nation and a club that regularly gets to CL QFs/SFs then that’s good enough for me.

Talent was spread more evenly back then which meant that the champions of the Netherlands, Romania, Bulgaria etc were genuinely very good. Anyway, Forest beat Liverpool (the holders) and Ballon d’Or winning Kevin Keegan’s Hamburg. Both great sides.
