A firmware update should be end-user recoverable if a specific version bricks the vehicle.

Otherwise, do as we did with the advent of ECU controls and just iterate the software versions in batches and require a trained mechanic to update firmware on existing cars when needed

Make only the vehicle head unit an OTA update capable component, and do not make it a critical control system for the whole vehicle.

Doing this means the vehicle doesn't become a £35,000 2 tonne paperweight just because the damn radio won't boot.

We don't even really have to ditch human rights laws to be totally fair.

We just have to draft our own and enshrine them in law which dictates that all legal residents of the UK are to be protected from government overreach into our freedoms of speech, peaceful assembly and association, expression of self, rights to a family life, and freedom from suffering.

The key part being *LEGAL RESIDENTS*.

And for a definition of a legal resident:

A legal UK resident, temporary or otherwise, is considered such if and only if one of the following criteria are met;

A: they are born on UK controlled soil and therefore obtain birthright citizenship.

B: They are a dual national with a full and VALID UK citizenship or residency permit (visa).

C: they are a foreign national who holds a full, valid UK work permit / visa, and are operating in full accordance of the terms set within the visa.

D: They are a legally recognized refugee with full refugee status. Such status should only be attainable after verifying that their host country is either attempting to persecute or is at war due to unprovoked adversarial attacks.

On D, the conditions for this are no longer met if;

A: the refugee commits a severe offence whilst residing in the UK.

B: The conditions for the refugee's safe return are verified to be met.

C: refugee status is revoked due to a breach of conditions (e.g.returning to their home country whilst reporting the conditions for doing so still are not met)

An illegal resident ("Alien") is a non-UK born resident who;

A: Enters the borders of the United kingdom without correct documentation.

B: Enters the borders of the UK without a valid Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) or visa where required.

C: Violates the terms set within their electronic travel authorization (ETA), visa, or refugee status.

Should any migrant violate the UK's immigration laws, with exception to failed attempts to perform a timely renewal of visa status, and only where a migrant surrenders themselves to UKBP/UKVI via their embassy for safe return to their home country pending the grant of a new visa, a permanent entry ban is to be issued to the individual. All biometrics are to be collected for future identification, and re-entry attempts through any legal routes quashed.

By these super simple and easy to follow laws, every single person entering the UK via the channel would be at minimum detained, their biometrics processed, and then they would be returned to France... Or, if their nationality is known, then they would be returned to their home nation instead.

Leaving the ECHR would ensure our legal processes can therefore be carried out in full without external impedance from some NGO aligned kangaroo judge doesn't have the complete, unbiased picture on why the individual is set to be deported.

Cognitive impairment is a side-effect form heavy metal poisoning... however, it can't be a reason for why an estimated 5% of the population has ADHD, or why around 1% is estimated to have ASD.

Reason being, not everyone will live or work in an area that's heavily contaminated with heavy metals which they would inevitably ingest and slowly build up toxicity with over time.

I for one have had bloodwork done for other things before, and the heavy metal content of my blood is undetectably small if it's even there at all.

I do soldering work as well, so my likelihood of lead intoxication for example is far more present than others would be. The reason I don't have it though is because I use a ventilated space to do my soldering work. the fumes don't reach my face before they're dragged out of the room.

and btw; I'm legally diagnosed AuDHD (combined ADHD + ASD)

Saying "heavy metal intoxication is a reason why ADHD and ASD exist" is akin to saying "smoking causes Asbestosis". The conditions are genetic, and are passed down to offspring from the parent. Depending on how those genes are expressed with alter the severity or lack thereof of the condition for the offspring.

If you have a really old pack of cigarettes from, say, the 1930s that advertises an asbestos filter for "better purity", then sure. Smoking those at quantity would also cause asbestosis.

If you have a modern pack with a cotton filter though? you're getting emphysema or lung cancer as alternatives. Both cigarettes will trash your lungs, however, one will do you in much faster but just as painfully, if not moreso, than the other.

Freezing a near FIFTY FIVE percent combined tax is not enough.

Government should cut fuel duty or abolish the 20% VAT on fuel AT A MINIMUM.

You don't need that extra 20% VAT when you charge such a disgusting amount extra in fuel duty!!

The government blames oil companies profiteering off of the crisis in the middle East for the insane price of fuel in Britain.

And while I agree somewhat on this position due to my dislike of overly speculative markets, and how sensitive they all are when it comes to price setting, I also feel the government itself is JUST AS RESPONSIBLE IF NOT MORESO for the poorer affordability of life within the UK though its rampant taxation strategies whilst it tries to make ends meet despite its abhorrent wasteful spending practises.

Labour might seemingly disagree with what I have to say here, but unfortunately, it's a fact of capitalist economics. And the UK Economy is in fact driven by those exact economics. Has been for centuries. Probably always will be once Labour inevitably get themselves voted out of Parliament in 2029 due to their inability to listen to us, the working class taxpayer, when we complain about such things as the cost of living, or our suggestions in what Labour could do to improve that situation almost overnight.

Taxing businesses raises the end price of goods and services rendered, as those businesses now have to make up for profits taken from them by the government. BP, Shell, Exxon and the like cannot simply take the wholesale cost of fuel and keep that as their target posted price at the pump, because believe it or not, they and the retailers they sell to actually have a relatively slim profit margin on fuel. If they posted their price at wholesale, they would be making gigantic losses which would cripple them in under a year.

The reason the retail side rakes in so much money in profit is for the most part because of economies of scale.

(now, I won't vouch for every fuel station because there are some who charge NORTH OF TWO QUID A FUCKING LITRE for diesel! That's nuts even for motorway service station pricing!)

Only around 6.2% of the combined final cost of a litre of fuel is profit from retail sale.

Now, if you want to see why fuel is so expensive... let's break it down. More than 50% of the complete cost is TAX.

The government calculates a flat rate of 52.5p for fuel duty, which is slapped on before adding ANOTHER 20% rate for VAT and the cost of adding in Ethanol or biodiesel content (Petrol is 5 or 10% ethanol, diesel is 7% biofuel conten)

So if we take my local fuel station's 178.9p/l cost for diesel and round it to 179p to make the numbers easier to negotiate, we get the following:

VAT, Fuel duty, mandated bio additives: 97.555p

Already, pulling that massive whack of tax off has the total cost *WITH* retailer profit at 6.6% At EIGHTY ONE POINT FOUR PENCE PER LITRE.

Wholesale cost: 70.347p

Retailer profit: 11.098p

The wholesale cost is inclusive of drilling, transport and refinement of the crude oil.

If you want to reduce these numbers, you need to start by cutting back the tax burdens on ESPECIALLY small and medium-sized businesses, because between the taxation, NI contribution rises, and increase in minimum wage, you are making it HIGHLY unsustainable to both start and maintain a business once you've got it VAT registered.

I've not seen this kind of entitlement occur much because on the whole, UK Drivers are usually courteous...

However, the plastic pigs and self-righteous bellends do show themselves from time to time and will attempt pretty much anything to stop you getting past them.

Your best option is to concede temporarily, then once you see an opportunity start to show itself, slingshot around them so they have no time to react. Extra points if you can safely aim for one car ahead too, because then they can't box you out a second time.

That's also normally extremely doable within the speed limit as well, because insufferable tossers like that Picasso tend to also drive 10 below the limit EVERYWHERE whilst hogging either the centre or outer lanes.

TL:DR; Hundreds of small businesses paying a lower rate of tax will ALWAYS bring in substantially more GDP than those same businesses paying substantially more tax...

Reason being that taxation pushes companies to insolvency. Those who have multi-national operations will shut down their UK operations and leave, and their CEOs and top brass follow the company.

Capital flight is a real thing, it is crushing the UK's economy, and taxing the nation MORE each time the GDP figures drop just accelerates it.

Take one hose pipe and squeeze it. The hose pipe is the economy, your hand is taxation.

the more the hose is crushed, the less water flows through. the water is your total GDP.

Release your grip slightly, water starts to flow again.

now get a few more people with hoses and a swimming pool and repeat the experiment.

The pool is the economy's GDP.

the people are the government and its tax burden

the hoses are businesses

and the water is money.

watch how fast that pool fills the moment those people start to reduce their "tax burden" on the hoses.

Which is pure incompetence at its finest if you ask me.

The best way to entice businesses to come into your economy and set up their goods and services... heck, EVEN BRING IN MANUFACTURING, would be reduce your tax burdens.

Reeves doesn't seem capable of understanding this, but if you reduce taxes on the individual business, and decide to play the long game with upping your GDP with it... You actually get substantially more tax from doing this than you EVER will, even short-term before capital flight happens, than raising taxes on a smaller number of businesses.

It's a short to medium term government funding downturn that produces a long-term economic boom.

The reason the Isle of Man has so many registered companies despite its small size is its 0% corporation tax.
