A large number of the workforce includes women. They hail from remote parts of India, many of them are from tribal backgrounds. But their remarkable spirit ensured that they learnt about semiconductors. They went for training and here they are, adding strength to India's semiconductor journey.

‘ડ્રમ પ્લાન્ટેશન’ થકી ધોલેરાના ખારપાટમાં ખીલી હરિયાળી

માનનીય વડાપ્રધાન શ્રી નરેન્દ્રભાઈ મોદીના ‘પર્યાવરણના જતન સાથે પ્રગતિ’ના ધ્યેયમંત્રને અનુસરતાં મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી ભૂપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલના દિશાદર્શનમાં ગુજરાતમાં ‘ગ્રીન ગ્રોથ'ની સંકલ્પના સાકાર થઈ રહી છે.

દેશના સેમિકંડક્ટર હબ તરીકે ઉભરી રહેલ ધોલેરાની અત્યંત ખારાશ ધરાવતી જમીન અને કઠિન આબોહવામાં, જ્યાંની સૂકી તથા ઉજ્જ્ડ ભૂમિ પર કુદરતી રીતે ઘાસ પણ ઉગી શકતું નથી, ત્યાં રાજ્ય સરકારના વન વિભાગ દ્વારા નવીન ‘ડ્રમ પ્લાન્ટેશન’ના પ્રયોગ થકી 15થી વધુ પ્રજાતિનાં 3200થી વધુ વૃક્ષોનું વાવેતર કરવામાં આવ્યું છે, જે ‘રણમાં મીઠી વિરડી’ કહેવતને સાર્થક કરે છે.

‘ડ્રમ પ્લાન્ટેશન’ના આ પાયલોટ પ્રોજેક્ટની સફળતા બાદ આગામી તબક્કામાં ધોલેરા એક્ટિવેશન વિસ્તારમાં આશરે 50,000થી વધુ રોપાઓ આ જ પદ્ધતિથી વાવવામાં આવશે અને સાથે જ માનનીય વડાપ્રધાનશ્રીની ‘ન્યૂ ઇન્ડિયા’ની પરિકલ્પનાને સાકાર કરતા ધોલેરાનો ‘ગ્રોથ હબ’ની સાથોસાથ ‘ગ્રીન હબ’ તરીકે પણ વિકાસ થશે.

At #ONGC’s Onshore Gas Terminal (OGT), P. Mallavaram (Polekurru Mallavaram) in Andhra Pradesh, M. Varsha is gaining hands-on experience in one of India’s most critical and technologically advanced energy operations as an Assistant Intern (Onshore Operations & Maintenance) under the #PrimeMinisterInternshipScheme (#PMIS).

Guided by her mentor Shri Lalan Kumar, CE (Instrumentation), Varsha is learning the complexities of gas processing, instrumentation systems, plant maintenance, and operational safety at the Yanam–Mallavaram facility in East Godavari district, a key hub that receives and processes gas from offshore KG Basin fields.

Coming from a humble background, with her father working as a car driver and her mother as a homemaker, Varsha’s journey reflects how opportunity, determination, and mentorship can open doors to sectors once considered inaccessible, especially for young women. Through excellent PMIS skilling at the Onshore Gas Terminal, she is gaining exposure to highly sensitive and hazardous field operations that demand discipline, technical precision, and constant vigilance.

Every day in the field is helping her transform curiosity into capability while deepening her understanding of the systems that power India’s energy future.

Her journey reflects ONGC’s commitment to nurturing young talent and encouraging greater participation of women in core operational roles across the energy sector.

​નવજાત શિશુ કે અધૂરા માસે જન્મેલા બાળકને હોસ્પિટલમાં જે 'ઇન્ક્યુબેટર' (કાચની પેટી) માં રાખવામાં આવે છે, તેનો એક મુખ્ય ઉદ્દેશ બાળકને માતાના ગર્ભ જેવો જ અહેસાસ આપવાનો છે. નવાઈની વાત એ છે કે આપણું પરંપરાગત કાપડનું ઘોડિયું કે ઝોળી પણ બરાબર આ જ વૈજ્ઞાનિક સિદ્ધાંતો પર કામ કરે છે!
1️⃣ ગર્ભ જેવો સુરક્ષિત અહેસાસ (Fetal Position):
સપાટ પથારીમાં બાળક હાથ-પગ ખુલ્લા રાખીને સુવે છે, જેનાથી તે ચમકી જાય છે. જ્યારે ઝોળી કે ઘોડિયાનું કાપડ બાળકને ચારેય તરફથી લપેટીને (Nest જેવું) રાખે છે. આનાથી બાળકને માતાના ગર્ભ જેવી હૂંફ અને સુરક્ષાનો અનુભવ થાય છે, જે તેના સ્નાયુઓ અને મગજના વિકાસ માટે ઉત્તમ છે.

2️⃣ બેલેન્સ સિસ્ટમનો વિકાસ (Vestibular Stimulation):
ઝોળીમાં મળતી ધીમી અને લયબદ્ધ ગતિ (ઝૂલવું) બાળકના કાનની અંદર રહેલી 'વેસ્ટિબ્યુલર સિસ્ટમ' ને ઉત્તેજિત કરે છે. આ વિજ્ઞાન બાળકને શારીરિક સંતુલન શીખવવામાં અને હૃદયના ધબકારા તેમજ શ્વાસને સ્થિર રાખવામાં મદદ કરે છે.
3️⃣ માથાનો આકાર સરખો રહેવો (Preventing Flat Head):
નવજાત શિશુના માથાના હાડકાં ખૂબ નરમ હોય છે. કડક ગાદલા પર સતત સુવડાવવાથી પાછળથી માથું ચપટું થઈ જવાનું જોખમ રહે છે. ઘોડિયાનું નરમ કાપડ બાળકના વજનને સરખી રીતે વહેંચી દે છે, જેથી માથાનો આકાર કુદરતી અને ગોળ રહે છે.
​4️⃣ ઊંડી અને શાંત ઊંઘ:
આ વૈજ્ઞાનિક અનુકૂળતાને કારણે બાળક લાંબી અને ગાઢ ઊંઘ (Deep Sleep) માણી શકે છે. વિજ્ઞાન કહે છે કે ઊંડી ઊંઘ દરમિયાન જ બાળકના મગજનો સૌથી ઝડપી વિકાસ થાય છે.

આજનું મેડિકલ સાયન્સ પણ નવજાત બાળકોની સંભાળ માટે હોસ્પિટલોમાં ખાસ 'ન્યુબોર્ન હેમક' (Neonatal Hammocks) નો ઉપયોગ કરી રહ્યું છે. આપણા વડીલોની આ 'ઝોળી' ની પરંપરા પાછળ ખરેખર ખૂબ મોટું બાળ-વિજ્ઞાન છુપાયેલું છે!

🇮🇳🪖 *દુનિયાના સૌથી ઊંચા યુદ્ધક્ષેત્રમાંથી એક ફોન*
આજે સવારે મારો ફોન રણક્યો. એ હતો એવી જગ્યાએથી કે જાણીને જ આદરથી મારું મસ્તક નમી ગયું: સિયાચીન ગ્લેશિયર (Siachen Glacier).
ફોનની બીજી બાજુ ભારતીય સેનાના એક જવાન હતા. તેમનો અવાજ દેશભક્તિ અને લાગણીઓથી ભરેલો હતો. તેઓ સિયાચિનની કોઈ માહિતી આપવા નહીં, પણ પોતાના હૃદયના ઊંડાણમાંથી બે શબ્દો કહેવા માટે ફોન કરી રહ્યા હતા: " _થેન્ક યુ (આભાર)."_
અમારી નિયોનેટલ ઇન્ટેન્સિવ કેર યુનિટ (NICU) ની ટીમ દ્વારા ૩૭ દિવસની લાંબી અને કપરી લડાઈ બાદ તેમના નવજાત બાળકનો જીવ બચાવવા બદલ તેઓ આભાર માની રહ્યા હતા.
*સરહદ પર ફરજ, અને NICU માં જિંદગીની જંગ* 👶🏼
મને એ નાનું માસૂમ બાળક બરાબર યાદ છે. જ્યારે તેને નજીકના ગામમાંથી અત્યંત ગંભીર હાલતમાં અમારી હોસ્પિટલમાં રિફર કરવામાં આવ્યું, ત્યારે તેની સ્થિતિ ખૂબ જ નાજુક હતી. અમારી મેડિકલ ટીમ બાળકના શ્વાસ બચાવવા માટે એક-એક સેકન્ડની લડાઈ લડી રહી હતી, અને બીજી તરફ તે બાળકનો પિતા દેશની રક્ષા માટે એક અલગ જ જંગ લડી રહ્યો હતો.
દુનિયાના સૌથી ઊંચા અને અતિશય ઠંડા યુદ્ધક્ષેત્રમાં ખરાબ હવામાન અને દેશની સુરક્ષાના કારણે તેમને શરૂઆતના ૧૦ દિવસ સુધી રજા મળી શકી નહોતી. એક પિતા તરીકે એ કલ્પના કરવી જ કેટલી અસહ્ય છે કે પોતાનું વ્હાલસોયું બાળક ત્યાં હોસ્પિટલમાં જીવન-મરણ વચ્ચે ઝોલા ખાઈ રહ્યું હોય, અને પોતે માઈનસ 40 ડિગ્રી તાપમાનમાં દેશની રક્ષા કાજે સરહદ પર તૈનાત હોય!
જ્યારે તેમને થોડા દિવસોની રજા મળી, ત્યારે તેઓ દોડતા હોસ્પિટલ આવ્યા. વોર્મરમાં રાખેલા પોતાના નાજુક બાળકને એક નજર જોયો, અને ભારે હૈયે પણ અડગ મન સાથે દેશની ફરજ નિભાવવા તરત જ સરહદ પર પાછા લોટી ગયા. તેમના માટે દેશ પહેલા હતો.

અમારા આ વ્યવસાયમાં અમે હજારો બાળકોને મોતના મોંમાંથી પાછા આવતા અને જિંદગીની જંગ જીતતા જોયા છે. દરેક બાળકની રિકવરી અમારા માટે એક મોટી જીત હોય છે. પણ આજનો દિવસ કંઈક ખાસ છે, ખૂબ જ અલગ છે.
જે બહાદુર સૈનિક બરફની ચાદર વચ્ચે ઊભા રહીને આપણા પરિવારોની રક્ષા કરી રહ્યા છે, આજે અમને તેમના પરિવારની, તેમના બાળકની રક્ષા કરવાનો લહાવો મળ્યો. આ આપણી ભારતીય સેના પ્રત્યે અમારું એક નાનું અને નમ્ર ઋણ અદા કરવા જેવું છે.
સરહદ પર આપણું રક્ષણ કરતા એ વીર પિતાને અને હોસ્પિટલના NICU માં એટલી જ બહાદુરીથી લડનારા એ નાનકડા યોદ્ધાને અમારા શત-શત નમન. તમારી સેવા કરવી એ અમારું સદભાગ્ય હતું.
મારી અદ્ભુત NICU ટીમ પર આજે મને ખૂબ જ ગર્વ છે. અમે ભલે દેશની સરહદ પર યુનિફોર્મ પહેરીને નથી ઊભા, પણ આજે અમને એવું લાગ્યું કે અમે પણ દેશ સેવામાં અમારું નાનું અમથું યોગદાન આપ્યું છે.

This is the smartest ai-era move India has made, and it's not the one people think.

Tata electronics and ASML just signed a partnership. tata is building india's first factory that actually makes chips, not just assembles them, an $11 billion plant in dholera, gujarat.

ASML is supplying the machines.

India didn't chase the flashy ai chips everyone fights over.

It went for the everyday ones, the chips inside every car, phone, power grid and appliance. that is most of the chips the real world runs on, and the easiest place to win first.

But ASML is not a normal supplier. it makes the machines that print circuits onto chips, the most tightly controlled machines on earth.

What India actually gets:

→ Engineers trained on the hardest part of making chips, not just packing and testing them

→ A backup supply of the chips its cars, defense and factories currently import almost entirely

→ A vote of confidence: the most guarded supplier in tech decided india was safe to build in

It is still an agreement of intent, not a finished plant, production is targeted for late 2026, and taiwan's PSMC provides the core chip technology.

The excitement is justified. being honest about the limits is what makes it credible.
