The global Islamic economy from fashion to food
Muslim consumer spending across major Islamic economy sectors reached around $2.43 trillion in 2023 and is projected to approach $3.36 trillion by 2028. Halal food remains by far the largest segment at roughly $1.43 trillion, but sectors such as modest fashion, Islamic finance, cosmetics, pharma, travel, and media are also expanding steadily.
Islamic finance alone is approaching $5 trillion in assets. Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, UAE, and Bahrain currently rank among the leading ecosystems supporting Islamic economy activity. The scale is no longer niche , it is becoming a major parallel consumer and financial ecosystem

Navigating global Halal compliance is becoming increasingly complex. Different regions have their own specific requirements and interpretations of Halal standards. While the integrity of Halal remains, these varying enforcement levels create confusion for producers in a global supply chain.
To solve this, the industry needs better harmonization and mutual recognition schemes so producers can clearly understand and meet these diverse needs. Without a settled global standard, gaps in implementation quality will continue to exist.
How can we better standardize Halal requirements globally? Let us know your thoughts in the comments! 🌍✨

USA-based global digital platforms (like Google, Twitter/X, Facebook, and others) represent 90% of the estimated 371 bill average monthly users in 2022, wielding global influence that poses a threat to the national interests of many nations.
The Global Digital Platform Index Report highlights areas of this 'concentration risk' for the rest of the world governments, including limiting access to their own population's data, loss of influence domestically and internationally, and potential job and economic losses.
We are proud to launch our inaugural Global Digital Platform Power Index which measures the intensity of digital platform power globally.
In this report, we assess leading, lagging, & promising countries, including those that excel despite a small population or low GDP.
What are digital platforms?
An online digital platform is a digital matchmaker; it provides a place online for two or more distinct but interdependent groups to connect, thereby creating a demand side and a supply side.
The Islamic Economy's 10 years of impact and future outlook are highlighted in four key major categories: Macro-Context, National/Multilateral Enablers, Islamic Lifestyle 'Zeitgeist', and Industry/Investments. https://t.co/INjFroCfzZ
