Vergognoso.
@natchouf @ISTerre_fr@UGrenobleAlpes I was thinking exactly the same yesterday. The heating was blazing and we had all windows open... Back at the beginning of winter, it was freezing in the offices and the heating was off. Surely it can't be that difficult to be more "green" with something so obvious. Or is it?
We have @DiniBenedetta for the upcoming GIIS webinar talking about her work on smart boulders on monitoring landslides at Bhotekoshi, Nepal! @AldinaFranco @DrGeorgieB
Check out our paper in #ESURF April highlight articles https://t.co/aZcSJZVvvg thanks to @DrGeorgieB @geo_whitworth@AldinaFranco and all other collaborators.
@Animal_Watch@BBCWales I don’t know why do we still need to have them. Is it really worth the stress we cause animals? And I also don’t know why anyone can do fireworks from their gardens, irrespective of whether this bothers their neighbours or not, with all the risks concerned.
@Daout16 This is normalisation of cruelty and abuse on a massive scale, of speciesism, of the idea that humans have superior rights. This should horrify and be intolerable to everyone, even people who don’t like animals, because this violence is a dangerous seed in the heart of society.
New Special Issue in @RemoteSens_MDPI on "#InSAR Monitoring of Slow Steady-State and Episodic Ground Surface Displacements": https://t.co/kwcZMrSIIj
All contributions exploiting the wealth of SAR data (e.g #Sentinel1,#ALOS2) for the detection of slow ground motion are welcome.
@Jillinchillin@PeterEgan6 It’s is simply RIDICULOUS and intolerable that in “first world” countries there’s still not enough collective brain and sensitivity to ban this shit! Is it tradition? Well, torturing and publicly hanging people was once tradition too, so we carry on?
We looked at the identification of the onset of hazardous boulder movement at a site in the Bhotekoshi (#Nepal) with smart sensors embedded in them. Our paper is now online for open discussion @DrGeorgieB @AldinaFranco@geo_whitworth
Discussion open for comments: Development of smart boulders to monitor mass movements via the Internet of Things: A pilot study in Nepal https://t.co/SULbz6akIs
In every animal, no matter how small, there’s a desire to live. And with this come dignity and rights. But for those who don’t agree with this, remember: violence is always violence, irrespective of the being against whom it is perpetrated. And violence cannot be tolerated.
Kneecapping a trick used by unethical hunting outfits worldwide. We don’t know that Canadian High Arctic Adventures did this, there’s only this photo. But making $$ killing polar bears- reprehensible!🤬
