This lovely Hellenistic mosaic glass bowl looks so modern, yet it was made over 2,000 years ago!
Ancient glassmakers created the tiny flower pattern using a technique now known as ‘millefiori’ (thousand flowers). A timeless design still made by glassmakers today!

This is the famous #Roman Portland Vase housed in the @britishmuseum Like most cameo glass it dates to between 25BC-25AD & was made by the dip-overlay method - an elongated bubble of glass was partially dipped into a crucible of white glass, before the two were blown together.
1) A rare and spectacular Roman glass 'cage cup' unearthed in 2020 in Autun, France – shown during excavation and after careful cleaning and restoration. A raised Latin inscription circling the vessel reads 'Vivas Feliciter' – 'Live happily!'
From May 6 to 9, GIMAV member firms will be in Shanghai, at Hall N1 of the Shanghai New International Expo Center, to participate in the 32nd edition of 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 as part of the group presence organized in partnership with ITA (Italian Trade Agency).
