It doesnt’t matter how beautiful your theory is, it doesn’t matter how smart you are. If it doesn’t agree with experiment, it’s wrong. In that simple statement is the key to science.
.@23andMe is experimenting with a new way to collect a lot more health data from millions of its users than just their DNA, by @chrissyfarr https://t.co/mIPn2ow7jo via @CNBC#genomics
A new blog, https://t.co/vWtckntXI5, looks at this question in excruciating (and not always user friendly) detail. The author shows how the original definition of FH was broadened without full discussion or transparency. -2
@hmkyale@anetto@S4PM@MarilynMann@ePatientDave@BraveBosom@HugoOC Ugh. Frustrating. My conditions are rare. So I know more than many drs. I can understand. If not you should help me. How can I be a good and proactive patient if I can’t have data and info to understand what is going on???
Finally! I’ve been awaiting the official outcome of this horrific story for at least 5 or 6 years. The wheels of academic misconduct justice move exceeding slow. Someday, perhaps, a more complete story will be told. #scientificmisconduct
@jazzyp_99@usnews@American_Heart @TheFHFoundation & Familial Combined Hyperlipidemia must not be confused with Familial hypercholesterolemia. With citation, linguistic, and mathematical integrity FH prevalence is 1:500.Without it, other diseases are rolled up under "FH."We must restore research integrity. https://t.co/WJKIZCqm8P
@malcolmken Read your blog from 2015 re: Borge Nordestgaard and statins. I've done some research into papers on FH, with central papers by Nordestgaard. I demonstrate citation kiting and its linguistic/math consequences . If interested, see https://t.co/WJKIZCHX0n
@jazzyp_99 But first we need to get FH literature straightened out. We need to evaluate citation kiting and linguistic alterations over the last 10 years -- especially diagnostic instructions. Those suffering from familial combined hyperlipidemia must be ID'ed 2. See https://t.co/WJKIZCHX0n
@CDC_Genomics@bmj_latest The difference between the old FH prevalence and the new is merely linguistics and citation kiting. The subcategories to ADH were rolled up under the name, FH. See https://t.co/WJKIZCHX0n. The premises upon which this increased prevalence is concluded had been manipulated.
A false narrative, long or short, is a kind of stone thrown across a pond. Speculation is a bet on how many times the stone will skip across the water; investing is knowledge that it will eventually find itself at the bottom of the pond. But "eventually" ... keeps the game alive
