@b_miklasz I just had a thought: Would the people who want Sal Stewart for NL ROY also consider Alec Burleson for NL MVP?
(This is not me arguing against Pete Crow-Armstrong! Just mystified that old-timey baseball card stat voters might still exist in 2026.)
@KevinWheeler94 He could be coming up to learn how to manage a MLB pitching staff. At the MLB catcher position, "sit and watch" isn't a complete waste of time. (I do agree this is a terrible idea for every other position on the field.)
Particularly good if they can keep Yadi around...for once.
@dhmontgomery Put away all the failing technology and interviews and just CALL THE GAME.
Fox weekend games are better, but not by much.
To be fair, there wasn't much of an "actual baseball game," either. Lipstick on a pig and so forth.
@ByJohnLeuzzi@usatodaysports I can pretty much guarantee everyone outside of Philly and the industry will forget the actual game.
Boring and historically meaningless. Terrible broadcast.
As someone in the stadium, you should try to now sit through the 3.5 hours of broadcast, then see how you feel about it.
@GiraffeNeckMarc For the love of God, turn off all the technology, stop the awkward interviews (which barely work) and just CALL THE GAME.
They've got pages of factoids on every one of these guys to fill the silence between strikeouts.
Is it also too much to ask to fully test all the equipment?
@WillieTheTiger @RoccSTL Google the False Consensus Effect
Your opinions are your opinions--which is good!--but don't assume that your opinions are others' opinions.
@Whiskeyjack888 @Cromwelp@nastyriff@LeAyyash Go watch Bellular News' video on this on Youtube. That was never an option. They had 6 days to make their money after launch.
@ChadJMiller3@RossDellenger@On3 That case was moot, not resolved. There's a huge difference.
He didn't win his case. He didn't lose it, either.
This is a fatal flaw in the system; the teams improperly playing seniors can just delay the suits until after the season ends then file to dismiss for being moot.
@MattSnyderCBS
I took the top names in Runs and PA and equalized them all to the same PA as Rickey Henderson (the leader in both) using their Runs/PA rates.
I wanted to see what it would have looked like if some of these guys had batted leadoff. Rickey is still in the Top 10.
@codygoodwin He says stuff like this after every loss. Every. Single. Time.
The only time I've actually seen him IMPROVE is when he hired an OC after admitting that he was the problem.
@scamden7@PowerMizzoucom Brady Cook was so bad that they could only run the #1 and #2 together in a vertical line on the same side of the field. It's the only way they could reliably get him to hit anyone other than the #1.
Most QBs are not good at it...but this is the SEC. You've just got to spend the $
