The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) Commissioner Robert S. Tucker announced the line of duty death of Firefighter Patrick Brady. The 42-year-old served our great Department for 11 years.
On Saturday, November 8th, Firefighter Brady was operating on the roof of a fire at 9407 Kings Highway in Brooklyn when he went into cardiac arrest. FDNY Firefighters and EMS quickly moved to treat Brady. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center where he passed away.
Firefighter Brady was appointed to the FDNY on July 14, 2014. After graduating from the Fire Academy, he was assigned to Engine 227 in Brooklyn, before transferring to Ladder 120 in 2022.
Firefighter Brady is the 1,163rd member of the FDNY to die in the line-of-duty. The last member of the Department to die in the line of duty was Paramedic Salih Abdur Rahman. Funeral arrangements are pending.
Hey all, it’s been a while but looking for a little spirited debate. What are your thoughts on RIT/RIC/Fast what ever you call it? Do you think RIT teams are necessary? Do you think they should be mobile or stationary ? Do you think there should be a minimum amount of staffing?
@bentruetken Our truck companies have a RIT compartment and are almost always in front of the building so they days of lugging shit from far away are very limited .
A modern day RIT is essentially a truck company. You conduct a 360, soften the building, throw ladders, monitor the radio etc. I believe that everyone should be RIT capable. 2 of 2
Traditional RIT is a Gimmick IMO. Let me stand idol on the front lawn with a hook.. The skills learned in RIT classes are useful but when a mayday occurs the FF is either self rescued, rescued by their crew or by the crew working closest to them. 1 of 2

@RawsGlobal They guy couldn’t run our country, was proven to be mentally unstable but yet we are allowing him to send weapons to a country we have no business being in… makes sense
