🚨 Baltimore Police Officer-Involved Shooting

On April 2, 2026, Western District officers responded to Wilson Street and Brunt Street for a report of a man being assaulted by multiple individuals.

Officers located 35-year-old Tavon Newton nearby after he fled on foot. During an attempt to take him into custody, Newton resisted and struggled with officers in a parking lot.

Police said an officer deployed a Taser, but Newton continued to resist and gained control of the Taser during the struggle. At that point, one officer discharged his firearm, striking Newton.

Officers provided medical aid before Newton was transported to a hospital in stable condition. A handgun was recovered from his sling bag, and a knife was also recovered at the scene.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Special Investigation Response Team (SIRT) in coordination with the State’s Attorney’s Office.

@Newzroom405 Taxi industry is very selfish. Last when people wanted to strike for the very same thing, they opposed it. Now they increased their taxi fares, traveling is expensive, people quit their jobs. Should fuel go down, taxi fares will still remain inflated...worse, SARS don't know them

Oil consumption on VW Golf 7 😡🤬 1L per 1000km, now worse. @VW SA fail to address the issue. This cars were supposed to be recalled. Mechatronic issues too, almost lost my life couple of times, including my kids cause of gearbox issue. VW doesn't give an F.😡🤬

Africans welcome all races in their neighborhoods. But other races come here and discriminate, then act victims.
