Why I’m in on Alabama G Labaron Philon as a Mav:

- With the flashes of everything he can do on the court, in his two years of college, he can be the most complete PG of this draft

- His ball handling is terrific. His use of his off hand is terrific. His deceleration is terrific. And he’s crafty

- His playmaking is solid for now, I think he can improve in that area with the play finishers the Mavs have

-In Dallas, where he wouldn’t have as much usage as he does this year for Bama, he can get back to being the defender that had him as a first round talent last year, solely off of his defense. This year, he’s going to go lottery because of his offense.

- Dallas role year 1: start with Kyrie, run the bench unit when Kyrie is off floor. Focus on defense under Kidd’s instruction and get back to freshman year Philon on defense

- He improved his flaws (perimeter shooting and creation) from last year to this year so quickly and with such a drastic leap, it’s a strong case for how his intangibles are
