Following an investigation into the attack on the Cap Arcona, the ships captain, Heinrich Bertram provided evidence to No2 WCIT. With investigators concluding that Bertram was not responsible, his denazification statement was recorded in January 1947. Excerpt below.

Recently enjoyed some filming work at the National Archives. The unknown tragedy of the Cap Arcona, which was attacked by the British on 3 May 1945, will be brought to light in a new documentary, hopefully airing later this year. #CapArcona #Neuengamme
