Happy Pride Month ATS, lung, and critical care community!!! Great to see support from the ATS! Now let’s practice what we preach and commit to holding conferences in states that are safe for all of our community.
@lukasronnerMD @therealpenntb Wow, surprised (& disappointed) to hear this. When interviewing applicants for our program I always asked about hobbies - gives them a way to open up & show their personality (esp in this era of virtual interviews)
@ALiebermanMDPhD No shame at all - I’ve started doing this when we’re admitting and I see a great teaching case on the board. The patients get care from an especially excited team (including our students, who can spend much more time with them), and the team can learn.
We are thrilled to announce our incoming fellows for next year: Drs. Nicholas Kuhl, Breanne McCarthy, (@DoctorBreanne), Leon Mirson (@MeerkatMirson), Gabrielle Mezechow, Alexander Ortiz, Ethan Pani, Hao Tang, and Patricia Valdo Toro. #fellowshipmatch2022
Looking forward to discussing our work with the #PVD research community!
Join on Zoom at 10AM EST this Thursday, 9/29 - the link to register (it’s free!) is in the original post:
Join @PVRI community call this Thursday at 3pm BST to tune into a discussion on the latest in PH this month. Including @PennIMResidents Dr. Breanne McCarthy presenting her findings on BMI and treatment response to PH from @accpchest. https://t.co/VPTIg05voe @AlNaamani_N
Excellent work published in @AnnalsATS showing sex-based differences in PAH outcomes.
Key takeaways for me:
🚨 Need to include sex/age/BMI when evaluating outcomes in PAH
🚨 Underscores the importance of representing diverse participants in future PAH trials
Fellow case conference is back! @wroqueMD, presenting on end-of-life care in ILD with expert faculty @marport25#pulmpearls
🫁 Involvement of palliative care underutilized & often late
🫁 Majority of deaths in ILD occur in hospital
🫁 High symptom burden - ⬆️⬆️cough, dyspnea
