We are the country’s largest union of attending physicians - a united voice for doctors, our patients, and the communities we serve. Call 855-DOC-SEIU.
We appreciate @NYCmayor Mamdani’s veto of Intro 175B to protect free speech and worker power. We’re ready to work with the administration to defend workers’ rights and our Constitutional freedoms.
Last month, the City Council passed two bills related to the constitutional right to protest — one for houses of worship, and one for educational institutions.
Today, I’m letting one bill go into effect, and vetoing the other. I’d like to take a moment to explain why.
As Mayor, I will always make sure the right to protest, prayer and protection are guaranteed for every New Yorker.
We are proud to stand with our union and community allies in opposition to this bill. We are concerned this legislation will restrict free speech, and negatively impact our patients and communities. We call on @NYCMayor Mamdani to veto Intro 175-B.

University Hospitals in Ohio illegally fired two pediatricians because they advocated for better working conditions and care for their patients.
University Hospitals: Reinstate these doctors NOW.
Rather than respecting the right of its doctors to advocate for better working conditions and care for patients, University Hospitals in Ohio chose to fire pediatricians Drs. Beene and Fouts-Fowler for speaking up.
University Hospitals must immediately reinstate these doctors.
NOW: 600 Allina doctors, physicians’ assistants, and nurse practitioners who are members of Doctors Council - SEIU are on a 1-day ULP strike. The union hoped they could avoid a strike, but Allina continues to propose cuts and changes that would be bad for providers and patients.
600 doctors, physicians' assistants and nurse practitioners with @DoctorsCouncil are holding the largest 1 Day ULP strike of its kind today in Minnesota. We're fighting for our patients, primary care, and respect at @AllinaHealth. Let's get corporate greed out of our care!
@ZohranKMamdani has been a supporter of public hospitals for many years including during our contract negotiations. We need a mayor that will work with HCWs to build a healthier NYC, not defund safety net hospitals. Go vote! @DoctorsCouncil

Instead of investing in recruiting and supporting PCPs, MGB is outsourcing primary care to AI and corporate vendors. This is a model for corporatized care that normalizes lower standards.

“if MGB president and CEO Anne Klibanski wants to demonstrate interest in improving and upgrading primary care in her own system, she could begin tomorrow morning by recognizing the union that 88% of her primary care physicians voted for last May.”

Yesterday at @GBLCBoston Labor Day Parade.
Dr. Michael Barnett, MGB primary care physician, who recently unionized with Doctors Council SEIU, said it best: Primary care is drowning, and MGB is putting profits over patients.
We voted UNION YES and MGB still refuses to bargain.
Solidarity in action! Dr. Alex Cerjanic (@MassGenBrigham neurology resident & CIR Regional Vice President) spoke in support of @DoctorsCouncil MGB primary care physicians who are fighting for union recognition. The future of doctors is unionized & organized. #UnionYes
