🗣️ Marc Cucurella:
“Before the World Cup final, I’d never played against Messi, so when people described him as humble, I used to believe it. But after playing against him in the World Cup final, I saw a completely different person from the one people always described Lionel Messi to be.
When he tried to report me to the referee, I told him I hadn’t said anything bad. I didn’t cover my mouth, I only slightly touched it. But he knew the referee had been following his lead since the group stage because many people had complained about the special treatment he was receiving. So he tried to report me in the hope of getting me sent off, even though I never covered my mouth in the first place.
He’s a player who loves it when decisions go in his favour but gets angry when things don’t go as he planned. They tried to rob us in the first half because Argentina were being favoured, but fortunately, in the second half, we didn’t even let them keep possession for five seconds.
My preference has always been Ronaldo. His discipline, openness, and the fact that he never hides his personality from the media are what I admire most. That’s why Ronaldo will always be my favourite.”
