I just finished doing an Uber ride with Tesla FSD for a family of three who are originally from Venezuela. Once we got to know one another and they were comfortable chatting with me, we tried out Grok in my Tesla translating my English to Spanish, and their Spanish to English, and it was OUTSTANDING!!! They told me that the Grok translations to Spanish were flawless. There was also very little lag, and Rex was super kind to the young lady in the back as he was translating her Spanish for me.
The only comment of feedback I have after this first real world Grok conversation translation is that, while Grok had no problem at all translating between me and the young man who was sitting up front with me, Grok was initially having problems hearing his wife in the back of my Tesla. But once her husband and coached her to speak up a bit more, it worked great! But a female passenger in the back of a Tesla shouldn’t have to speak up and yell like a man for Grok to hear her. That’s my only comment, that maybe the microphone capabilities should be amplified in the Tesla with Grok, so as to pick up softer feminine voices coming from the back.
But bottom line, Grok was outstanding and proved to be useful in the real world, with absolute strangers communicating with one another in different languages. I have it on video and will upload once I’m done Ubering tonight and have a chance. Great job @xai@grok ! ❤️
