BREAKING: Ken Paxton’s Senate campaign GETS ROCKED as more than 20 Republican political figures back James Talarico. A former Texas Ranger explains why he made the jump.
Donald Trump may have halfheartedly tried to boost the chances of Texas Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton with his Trump rally disguised as a political convention these past two days, but no matter how much he tries to put lipstick on this swinish Texas Attorney General, even members of his own party are crossing the aisle to endorse Paxton’s Democratic opponent, James Talarico.
Just yesterday, the Talarico campaign released a list of over 20 Republican leaders who’ve chosen to reject their own party’s corrupt candidate in favor of the squeaky-clean Democrat. The list features a plethora of former officials who’ve turned their back on Paxton, the Trump- endorsed MAGA loyalist who somehow survived impeachment by his own party after the depth of his corruption was initially revealed.
Included on the list:
—James Edge, Mayor Pro Tem of Bryan, TX
—Shane Phelps, Fmr. Deputy AG under John Cornyn
—Jimmy Don Aycock, Fmr. TX State Rep (HD-54)
—Tom Phillips, Retired TX Supreme Court Chief Justice
—Steve Bartlett, Fmr. Mayor of Dallas, Fmr. Congressman (TX-3)
—Bennett Ratliff, Fmr. TX State Rep (HD-115)
—Dorothy Burton, Fmr. Mayor Pro Tem of Duncanville, TX
—Jim Richards, Fmr. Dallas City Councilman
—Ryan Davenport, Fmr. GOP Convention Delegate
—Dale Ross, Fmr. Mayor of Georgetown, TX
—Donna Halstead, Fmr. Dallas City Councilwoman
—Andrew Sansom, Fmr. Exec. Director of TX Parks and Wildlife
—Deborah Hankinson, Retired TX Supreme Court Justice
—Todd Smith, Fmr. TX State Rep (HD-92)
—Kimberly Preist Johnson, Retired U.S. Magistrate Judge (E.D. TX)
—Lionel Sosa, Fmr. Campaign Advisor to George W. Bush
—Susan Lewis King, Fmr. TX State Rep (HD-71)
—Alan Steelman, Fmr. TX Congressman (TX-5), Fmr. GOP Senate Nominee
—Adam Kinzinger, Fmr. Congressman (IL-16)
—Glen Whitley, Fmr. Tarrant County Judge
—David Maxwell, Fmr. Director of Law Enforcement, Ken Paxton's Office
That last name on the list, David Maxwell, a man who worked closely with Paxton as his former Director of Law Enforcement, sat down for an interview recently to explain why he took the unprecedented step of joining Team Talarico.
“I spent two hours with James Tallarico,” Maxwell began. “I came back and thought about him. Number one, I saw no deception. He answered all my difficult questions. He didn't dodge anything. He didn't give me the Texas two-step when I asked him a hard question. He didn't go all the way around the bush and never answer. He hit it head-on.”
“He comes to this campaign and this initiative with a sense of service, a sense of service in his background,” Maxwell continued. “He was a teacher. My mother was a teacher. I have granddaughters who are teachers. Both my wife and I have served Texas our entire careers. That means something to me. That means something.”
Maxwell, a straight-up law and order Republican, values character over partisan politics and knows that Paxton’s character makes him unfit for any office whatsoever.
“You know, in my line of business, in my experience, it means so much to see someone who's sincere,” he explained. “Now, I have been around politicians my entire life. I've served five governors. I've met and been around four presidents. They're all very interested in Texas Rangers. But I say that to say this. He's so different than other people I have encountered in politics. I think he's the man who needs to go to Washington, D.C., and Ken Paxton needs to go home.”
Please like and share if you hope that enough Texas Republicans can see the same flaws in Ken Paxton that this former Texas Ranger does and help send James Talarico to the Senate in November!
Here is a running list of controversies surrounding both Texas Senate candidates.
James Talarico:
• Has wifi on his campaign van
• A rumor about him being vegan
Ken Paxton:
• Gave his pedophile friend an Epstein style sweetheart deal that allowed him to be released from prison after just a couple of weeks despite repeatedly raping a young boy.
• Impeached by his own party for blatant corruption.
• Indicted on securities fraud charges.
• Reported by his own staff for selling his position of power, 8 staffers wrote to the FBI concerning his actions in office, many of which were fired for speaking out.
• Forced to pay restitution to the fired employees (millions from tax payers)
• Caught on camera stealing a $1,000 pen, refusing to give it back until being threatened with arrest.
• Had an affair with a woman, who was employed by a guy he was giving preferential treatment by Paxton’s office.
• Illegally voted in Texas state elections, registered at the wrong address.
Trade is a win-win, not a lose. We don't "lose" $195 billion, we gain the products we purchased, which we value more than $195 billion.
That money comes back into the United States as investment. The persistent trade deficits of the United States come from the fact that foreigners keep investing in America, not because of lack of tariffs or too much trade.
In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.
She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.
The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.
She handed out the checks herself.
In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.
When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.
You've probably heard that part.
Here's the part you haven't:
The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.
Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.
She built her county an entire hospital.
She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.
In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.
Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.
In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.
And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.
She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped anyway.
She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.
Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸
The rise of accounts on here because of oil & gas with no real knowledge of field operations is interesting to me.
It’s all the same repetitive stuff.. strait this, strait that.
Why don’t yall straight up shut up?
People struggle to understand the remote nature of Big Bend.
In 2015 I flew a plane around the entire border of Texas and photographed it from the air. It took 6 days to complete the trip. Big Bend alone was one full day of flying and photographing.
Both sides of the Rio Grande/Rio Bravo, are hundreds of miles of the most inhospitable, yet beautiful desert landscape. The Chihuahuan Desert is unforgiving country. A place with massive rock cliffs and very little terrain you can traverse by foot safely.
The visitor rate in the park is on the lower end compared to more accessible parks like Yosemite and The Great Smoky Mountains, but its popularity among those who have actually visited is astounding.
In fact, this summer I was camped in the Smoky Mountains next to an older couple who travels the country in their RV.
Being from North Carolina they had spent a lot of time there as well as many of the parks in the West.
They saw my ¡Viva Terlingua! sticker and asked if I’d been. I told them that I’d spent about a week in Big Bend for the last 19 years and got out there any time I could.
They said they took the desolate drive along State Highway 90 through Sanderson on their way out. It was on the husband’s bucket list to visit and it was by far his favorite park now that he had.
The untouched, rugged, austere nature of that area is the feature that draws people in and leaves a lasting impression.
If you’re at a loss to understand why there’s such an uproar over construction of a road barrier through Big Bend Ranch State Park and BBNP, then it’s my belief that you’ve likely never been. Because if you had, you’d understand.
@DeItaone 1983 is just when the SPR was filled to this level for the first time, as it was created at the end of the 70s. In a real sense, this is the lowest we've ever drained the SPR in history. I worry people will keep seeing 'since 1983' and assume the situation has stabilized
@brownsfaninRVA@maphumanintent Russia being unable to refine crude and produce diesel allows China to buy their crude and sell Russia and other Asian countries refined products.
China also has the largest SPR if SHTF.
They tell you Flock cameras are there to fight crime.
So I pulled the actual police logs from my new favorite website (haveibeenflocked . com). 233 million searches that they have been able to get via FOIA requests and here's what "fighting crime" actually looks like:
> 84% had no case number at all
> The most common reason a cop typed in the box? Blank, nothing
> Only about 9% were even tagged as a real crime.
> "Test" and "training" show up as reasons, run on real people's cars
> The FBI and Homeland Security were wired into local camera networks your town never signed off on.
So what is Flock?
FLOCK: 100,000+ plate cameras bolted to poles across America. They read your plate everywhere you drive and never forget.
NOVA: Flock's AI that turns your plate into you. Your name, address, family, everyone you know, in seconds, no warrant.
SIGNALTRACE: a competitor's tool that tracks the Bluetooth off your phone, your AirPods, your watch. Doesn't even need your plate.
Then I followed the money and the lead investor behind Flock also funds an Israeli company that can hack cameras and change the footage. Another lead investor backs a 911 app that flips on your phone's camera and mic. Trace it all the way back and you hit a former Israeli prime minister and Jeffrey Epstein's money.
