Bill Clinton: “The Palestinians were offered a state. They refused. A state wasn't their goal. Killing Jews was."
This must be shared every single day.
Anyway, about Sudan. Two hundred thousand dead. Millions displaced. Thousands already in the West, from London to Paris and Toronto.
Why haven’t you heard much about? A) it’s Africans killing Africans. B) people only care about Muslims when Israel is in the picture.
The Sudanese Armed Forces — an Islamist army tied to the Muslim Brotherhood — and a rogue militia called the Rapid Support Forces, which grew out of the notions Janjaweed, have been tearing that country apart since April 2023. Thirty million people need help. Nobody's giving it.
This isn't just a Sudan problem anymore. It's our problem. When countries collapse, the flow of refugees always ends up in the West. Yet due to cultural blindness, the world is ignoring this conflict. At this rate, it won't stay ignored for long.
You haven’t thought this through.
(‘Grotesque’) Hamas runs Gaza and is still, unbelievably, quite popular. It is committed - absolutely - to killing all non Muslim Israelis (& many of the Muslim ones too, for supporting Israel).
It’s not an idle commitment. We saw what happens when the border is breached - an abomination, an orgy of depravity.
I’d love people like you to visit the Nova Exhibition to see for yourself the images and videos taken by the butchers themselves.
Then consider whether Israelis (not just the govt which many, many people dislike) are justified in wanting to destroy Hamas.
Then… consider how one would do that, given Hamas’s propensity to put their own civilians directly in harms ways for propaganda purposes (see video below as one of many example).
It’s extraordinary, but completely consistent, that having built more tunnels than a large city subway, Hamas built precisely zero tunnels to protect civilians. Why do you think that is? Again, watch this video for answers.
Every child fatality is appalling. But given Hamas’s meticulously documented tactics, it is a miracle that the ratio of combatant to civilian fatalities is what it is (even using Hamas’s propaganda numbers).
Gazans have received more aid per capita than (likely) any people on Earth. They deserve a government that uses that money to build up, not down; to teach their children to thrive, not die. If and when they do, the violence ends and they flourish. And Israelis meanwhile will no longer face that particular existential threat and would likely vote for a very different type of peacetime government, one which would take a very different approach to the ongoing settlements.
None of this is simple, despite the implication in your tweets (a staggering one in five of which relate to Israel, as opposed to so many other horrors in the world). But the alternative is perennial violence and misery.
Richard I’ve done you the courtesy of replying but I’m certain that even if every single one of your assumptions and prejudices were forensically disproven, your general position & israel obsession would be completely unmoved.
Please do visit the Nova Exhibition and then try to do some ‘independent critical thinking’.
Gary here is fast approaching 40 and yet displays the intellectual dexterity and emotional maturity of a slightly below-par 15-year-old.
He’s representative of so much that is wrong in our culture. Indeed, he is a product of bad ideas, bad teaching, institutionalised spite, and lazy greed.
We don’t teach subjects any more.
We teach activism — bloody silly activism.
Graduates enter the workforce with precisely Gary’s mentality. Some grow out of it pretty rapidly, but many don’t — and that’s a worry for us all.
The truth is, we’ve stunted them. And we should be ashamed of ourselves.
It’s incredible what happens when you put an actual economist next to this fraud.
Well done to @K_Niemietz for demolishing Gary Stevenson’s entire schtick in seconds.
Share this video with all your famous and friends. A total masterclass.
No Guardian article has ever brought me more joy than this. Some best bits:
"This evangelising of a wealth tax should have made for a truly amazing documentary. But it allows its host to be totally out-argued by all his interviewees. Why?"
"Stevenson is not an appealing presenter. He has an adolescent bullishness about him that comes across badly on screen, raising a sort of fight-or-flight response in the viewer instead of encouraging engagement"
"He is outdone and undone by almost all of his interviewees."
Stevenson was "left floundering, without convincing comebacks to any of them."
"Just a faintly embarrassing waste of time."
If Gary cannot even convince the Guardian's TV critic that he is not just a grifter, it's no wonder he is deciding to quit
To the degree “Britain is finished” it’s because we have become one of the most anti-wealth, anti-success, anti-growth nanny states in the developed world.
The nation that birthed the Industrial Revolution, invented modern capitalism, governed 25% of the world’s population and invented swaths of technologies that the world relies on today… is suddenly afraid of a little inequality.
The truth is however that we don’t have rampant inequality at all.
By all measures we are a normal economy…
- Wealth of the top 1% has been stable for 40+ years. There’s no data that says it’s “out of control”
- Wealth at the bottom 50% is in line with the rest of the world’s major economies.
- Our Gini-coefficient is middle of the pack for the G20 nations.
So… Where are we going wrong?
- Our economic freedom index rating is falling. It shows that economic freedom is down significantly because we are over-taxed and over-regulated.
- The ratio of government spending to GDP is sky high (45% of GDP). We’re losing our free market system because almost half the economy is government spending NOT market driven spending.
- Taxation is at an all time high point. It’s wildly progressive relative to our past and our peers. The top rate of tax kicks in at 3x the average while the USA has a lower top rate that kicks in at 7x the average. Minimum wage is pegged at 60% of the median - one of the highest in the world. All of this is to say that we’re so safeguarded from danger that we can’t actually get ahead!
- Wage suppression through taxation cliffs is holding back productivity.
- We have socialist ideologues in senior roles across government who LOVE the idea of the nanny state. They think economic growth is government growth. They think it’s dangerous for wealth to be in the hands of individuals. They think “wealthy people” are people who “have savings”.
- we have a government that is painfully unaware that new technology erodes the value of jobs at the bottom and increased competition through open-door migration suppresses wages too.
We’re trying to tax the country into growth. It doesn’t work.
Gary wants to create equality by making the country poorer and it doesn’t benefit anyone.
Instead of worrying about inequality we should be focused on making the country richer and raising living standards.
What a vile & cretinous race grifter you are. As the daughter of Yoruba Nigerian royalty, it is highly likely your ancestors were slave owners. An uncomfortable truth you won't address
90%+ of African slaves were enslaved by other Africans
You don't care about slavery at all. If you did, you would be campaigning against modern slavery in Africa.
What have you done to help free the 1.6 million slaves in your beloved Nigeria? Nothing. That tells us all we need to know
Your sole concern is to use slavery as a cudgel with which to attack Britain, America and the West more broadly. An age-old tactic of the far left.
Q. How do we describe a woman who aggressively rants, raves and shrieks about historical events from 200 years ago whilst ignoring the plight of her black brothers and sisters alive and suffering today?
A. An immoral, disingenuous, virtue-signalling harridan.
PS: You are also painfully ignorant. The £20 million payment to free the slaves was paid off long before 2015 (it may have been paid off as early as the 19th century but was almost certainly paid off during the 20th century).
You are basing your claim on a poorly phrased Treasury tweet which has since been clarified. I had to correct your brother-in-crime (K. Andrews) on this point some time ago.
You are no expert and should stay in your lane. Utterly embarrassing.
Israel built this 7-layered wall costing billions of dollars on its border with Gaza, turning it into the largest open prison in the world 👇
Sorry for the typo, Egypt built this on its border with Gaza.
@koshercockney Hey @MarkJCarney@fordnation@MayorOliviaChow is this acceptable to you? Is this how you protect the Jewish community, by allowing this type of despicable behavior? Better get Canada’s new “Antisemitism Czar” on this ASAP, or is he too busy advocating for Hezbollah and Hamas?
We paid for what you sent us. It wasn’t charity. We were still paying off the loans 40 years later.
You didn’t start US protection of Atlantic convoys til mid-1941 — and even then it was limited.
Of course we could not have defeated Germany without US intervention. But we had saved ourselves from defeat before US intervened.
It was a great Anglo-American alliance that then defeated the Nazis (along with Russia). Why would a governor of Florida want to demean that?
What on earth is going on here?
Parliament voted to abolish blasphemy laws back in 2008 — 18 years ago.
The Government’s decision to introduce a non-statutory official definition of Islamophobia — repackaged as “anti-Muslim hostility” — has effectively revived blasphemy laws for Islam alone.
In a free society, no religion should be afforded greater protection than another. We are losing our fundamental right to legitimately criticise and debate a single religion in this country.
It is not a criminal offence in this country to criticise or mock the Prophet Muhammad.
The Free Speech Union wants to help. If you know anything about this case, please contact us at [email protected].
