In each case the judge, when passing sentence, was absolutely certain of their guilt.

The Guildford 4, the Maguire 7 all freed after years in prison because the judge was certain of their guilt would have been hanged if we'd had the death penalty.

Neither the PM or the media could comment on the case until the law had run its course. To comment would be contempt of court.
Now the perpetrator has been sentenced we can hear about the case.

Prior to that the case would be sub judice so any comment on the case would have been contempt of court.
