@MiaDautaj Neither in Kosovo nor in Albania Religion is a reason to devide the society. This is unfortunately the case in Serbia and BiH and is linked to false nationalistic politics.
Heute trifft sich der @DFKR_HCCFA

🇺🇸 Media in Balkans have noted that President Trump struck the same pose with Balkan leaders.
The images have fueled conspiracy theories that they were AI-generated or that Balkan leaders posed with a “wax figure” of Trump.

🇭🇷🇽🇰The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia commented on the verdict against Hashim Thaçi. "
"The verdict does not change the fact that Kosovo and its population were victims of repression and serious crimes by the Milosevic regime.
The individual responsibility of an individual cannot relativize these crimes or call into question the freedom and independence of Kosovo"
They also pointed out that the judgment is not yet final.
🇺🇸🧐Thirty senior American psychiatrists and mental health experts have signed a statement declaring President Donald Trump mentally unfit to serve, warning that his sole authority over U.S. nuclear weapons poses a danger to the entire world.
According to the doctors, Trump’s behavior over the past year has shown “objectively observable signs of serious medical concern.”
They cited:
— a significant decline in cognitive functioning,
— episodes of apparent drowsiness during critical public appearances,
— severely impaired judgment and impulse control,
— loss of self-control,
— and grandiose or delusional beliefs, including claims of infallibility and imagery portraying himself as a figure with a “divine mission.”
The physicians argue that Trump now represents a “clear and present danger” and called for urgent action to remove him from office.
“It is our expert opinion that Donald J. Trump is mentally unfit to be president of the United States,” the statement reads.
The letter invokes the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which allows the vice president and cabinet to declare a president incapable of performing the duties of office.
One of the signatories, Dr. Henry David Abraham of Tufts University School of Medicine, warned about “the buildup of psychiatric symptoms in a person who has sole authority to launch nuclear weapons.”
He pointed to Trump’s April 7, 2026 Truth Social post regarding Iran, in which Trump wrote:
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.”
According to the doctors, the warning signs include:
— grandiosity without restraint,
— paranoia,
— impulsivity,
— vindictiveness,
— uncontrolled rage,
— and a sense of omnipotence in a man with unchecked control over nuclear weapons.
Psychiatrist Bandy Lee, another signatory, said the issue now “transcends politics and concerns the survival of humanity itself.”
The statement was submitted to the U.S. Congressional Record by Democratic Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed.
The doctors emphasized that their declaration is “medical, not political,” and includes professionals with both conservative and liberal views.

Mark Carney, "In the heart of Germany, above Weimar, there is a wooded ridge called Ettusberg. And for decades, Goethe walked, thought, and wrote there. An oak on that ridge came to bear his name, a living monument to the highest ideals of European culture"
"As the 20th century turned dark, that same oak became trapped behind the barbed wire of Buchenwald. A silent witness to humanity's deepest moral failure. Goethe understood that ideals must be fought for, that values do not defend themselves."
"Indeed, at the end of Faust, the old man's last vision is of a free people on free ground. Nödvg, Värdjän, Siegfreiheit. Wie das Leben, de taklik si eroban mus"
"Freedom and life must be earned every single day"
"Every day"
"Every day, not once in 1945 or 1956 or 1989. Every day, including this one."
My take: 1945, 1956 and 1989 are not distant history lessons: they mark Europe’s liberation from fascism, Hungary’s uprising against Soviet rule, and the fall of the Iron Curtain. Carney’s point is that freedom is never something Europe simply achieved and banked forever - it is a choice, a responsibility and, when necessary, a struggle renewed by every generation.
Some preliminary thoughts on the verdict against Hashim Thaçi:
1. The Kosovo tribunal’s verdict against Thaçi was only the penultimate word in legal terms. An appeal is still pending. In view of the evidence, however, it seems both sound and right that Thaçi has now been convicted. At least based on what is currently known, it seems rather unlikely that an appeal could result in an acquittal. (Although such cases have occurred before—see Ante Gotovina.)
2. Whether the 25-year prison sentence imposed on Thaçi stands in a reasonable proportion to the sentences handed down to Serbian war criminals will be a matter for debate. I have my doubts.
3. Most importantly, however, the verdict should not blur the historical proportions of what happened in Kosovo in 1999 (and before). The conflict was triggered by the Greater Serbian policies of Slobodan Milošević, whch was, at least in the beginning, supported by a majority in Serbia. Serbian "security forces" (often just plain bandits on state payrolls) committed crimes on a far greater scale than those attributed to the “Kosovo Liberation Army” (UÇK). The court was therefore right to emphasize that neither Kosovo Albanians as a whole, nor the UÇK as such, nor its struggle for Kosovos independence were on trial in The Hague. In view of Serbian repression, that struggle was both inevitable and justified. And no verdict against individuals, as justified as it might be, will change that.
